Beyonce is proving a formidable force on the charts in the wake of the release of her sixth studio album – ‘Lemonade.’
Following the retail roll-out of the project today, not only has the LP lunged to #1 on iTunes in over 70 countries, several of its songs have catapulted into the top 10.
This is especially the case in the US, where something fairly surprising has taken place.

Moments ago, ‘Formation’ overtook Prince‘s ‘Purple Rain’ to hit #1 on the Stateside tally.
Its out of the gate success is particularly noteworthy given that the Mike-Will production was made available for free on TIDAL two months ago.
Three other Beyonce songs also sit within the upper echelon of the count; ‘Sorry’ (#3), ‘Hold Up’ (#4), and ‘6 Inch’ (#5).

While I dont this album is as good as self titled i do think it makes a good PARENT to that Album if it makes any since the better half of LEMONADE is so much better than the weaker half of Self Titled and can at worse compete with the better half. I just think self titled is FULLER and more Dynamic. LEMONADE is more playful tho and takes even more risk. Just on most the songs there is versus that arent as good as the chorus or hook and vice versa but that just makes the music more enjoyable at times. For instance the last 20 seconds of 6 inch & the 2nd part of sandcasles are FING EPIC ASF!
