It looks like Justin Timberlake will be riding solo at Sunday night’s Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Speculation has been rife that the singer, whose new album ‘Man Of The Woods’ arrived today, would stage a do-over with Pop queen Janet Jackson. Especially given the fallout from their now infamous wardrobe malfunction at her 2004 show.
However, it appears that won’t be happening. Nor a lesser rumored NSYNC reunion.
His words below…
Speaking at the official Super Bowl press conference, JT said the following when quizzed on possible guests:
“To be honest, I had a ton of grand ideas about special guests. We talked about it a lot. There’s a whole list — I think Vegas has a lot of odds on it, I heard. From *NSYNC to Jay [Z] to Chris Stapleton to Janet, but this year I’m just excited — my band, the Tennessee Kids, I feel like they’re my special guests and I’m excited this year to rock the stage. It’s gonna be a lot of fun.”
Though the prospect of Timberlake performing alone may be tedious for some, he promises that it’ll be a spectacle to remember:
“Without giving too much away, we’re doing a few things with this halftime show that they’ve never quite done before. I’m excited to do that, I always like to push to be able to do something like that. But also, too, I think on a more serious note, it’s a moment where you have the opportunity to bring so many people together through what I think is the greatest art form. That has been the ethos of the inspiration behind putting the set list together and managing the visuals and how it all sort of comes together.” [Source]

Could this be an elaborate diversion tactic or is Justin pre-empting the situation to prevent (inevitable) disappointment? The answer arrives in a mere matter of days.

And he doesn’t push anything, he’s the same boring artist since 2002, his whole career has been Timberland & Pharrell with MJ and Prince leftover/wanna be tracks. I hope he trips and fall on his face, power goes out during the show, sound problems, mic fail and it storms.

Maybe he asked her but she declined the invitation, anyway, Gaga did it without any guests, I think is better this way.
The difference is Gaga is a performer and does need help, never did. Justin’s whole career is based on the help of others.

He is known for singing Pop and URBAN music with choreography and singing an Urban leaning VOCAL. There is nothing special about a J.T. concert – it’s clinical and Meh no matter how much ‘Live’ soul and ‘Band’ he tried to inject into the Sahara Dessert anteater dry ass performance. ????
He plays an instrument as much as Madonna lip sync guitar, Taylor Swift, or a Disney t*** act from the 2000. Let’s talk dance, he’s not on MJ,Usher, Chris Brown, Neyo, Genuwine, Omarion, Bruno Mars or even Justin Bieber’s level. Let’s talk playing instruments, he’snot on Stevie Wonder, Prince, Ed, Shawn or again, Bruno Mars or JB’s level. That’s two different artistry/performing skil sets I listed how many artist that make him look lame on each side. Then, you can save your lil “he does both” because Bruno Mars does both very well and everyone I named can sing better LIVE than Timberfake, minus Chris Brown and Omarion, they’re prob at the same level.

Well is he gonna bring back the choreography for this set list? Is he gonna get deep in his band to distract from the fact he’s paying his Urban past dust? – TBH – without the surprise appearance of Janet there is no reason to make an effort to watch this. He is so tired, fake and broke down.

He is a lie. Janet’s team announced she would NOT be performing a month ago. Randy Jackson denounced the rumor a month ago too. Even Jimmy Jam said in an interview three weeks ago Janet is not performing. Justina is trying to save face but the reality is that both Janet and Jay-z said NO. I hope his performance sucks and the Patriots loose.

The article pic alone says a lot, Janet is a true class A performer, while Justin is basic mashed potatoes, sometimes good & sometimes dry/tasteless. Sidenote: Janet gave one of her best/fierciest performances ever before Justin showed up that night!
