Much like our ‘Retro Rewind’ and ‘From the Vault’ segments, readers of That Grape Juice know what avid music lovers we are – especially of hits past. So in a quest to re-spin the gems and jams of yesterday we introduced a new retrospective segment – ‘TGJ Replay’.
Unlike its ‘Rewind’ and ‘Vault’ predecessors, ‘Replay’ looks to dust off and showcase albums (and eras) from a library of pop music hits. Today, we’ll reach out and touch the play button on Amerie‘s best-seller – 2005′s ‘Touch’…
Underrated. Just one of the many things often named with ’1 Thing’ hitmaker Amerie Rogers. Her humble beginnings may have found her lost in the shuffle of a new wave of early 2000s R&B belles, but the musical melting pot that was her debut album ‘All I Have’ quickly set her apart. A melting pot, hinting at R&B, soul, pop, and hip hop, that seemed filled with almost as many diversities as the singer herself.
Led by the mid tempo ‘Why Don’t We Fall In Love’, fans quickly fell in love with this beauty’s varicolored vocal stylings, accented by layers of decorative harmonic arrangements. A quality that would remain a distinct constant, yet misprized feature of her offerings.
However, it was the introduction of ’1 Thing’, the lead single from the 2005 ‘Hitch’ soundtrack (Will Smith) and her sophomore album ‘Touch’ that saw R&B lovers really get in touch with her work…
If you consider yourself to be an Ameriie fan, we’d say you’re in luck.
This is because last night, the ‘One Thing‘ wonder took part in a Facebook chat which saw her speak openly on her forthcoming LP ‘Cymatika’ and its supporting EP ‘The Prelude‘.

It’s been three years since the artist formerly known as Amerie released new material.
Now going by the name Ameriie, the singer is gearing up to release a new EP, ‘The Prelude’, the first of taste of which she served up today in the from of ‘Every Time’.

As fans may recall, ‘Touch’ singer Ameriie was said to be putting the final touches on ‘Cymatika Vol. 1′ - her 5th LP (due spring 2012). And, while buzz on once set lead single ‘Fire Starter’ has dimmed, the songstress is still pressing forward with work on the album (now reportedly due summer 2012).
For now, Miss Ameriie can be spotting on the cover of ‘Sheen’ magazine striking quite the diva pose. Get into these snaps of the stunner below:
As ever, we’re ready for more music for the songstress as her last album ‘Love And War’ (unduly) didn’t get much love from record buyers. Here’s hoping this time around is different.
The criminally underrated Ameriie has spent the last two years out of the public eye, getting married and working diligently on ‘Cymatika Vol. I’ - her 5th studio album.
Yet, with recording reportedly set to wrap soon, the soulful stunner stepped out in style at Ne-Yo/Compound Pre-Grammy Party over the weekend. And sporting a shorter hair do too. You like?
R&B vixen Ameriie was spotted out with husband/manager Lenny Richardson yesterday in Beverly Hills shopping and sight-seeing. The ’1 Thing’ hitmaker, who reportedly has her sights on a new LP and accompanying tour, is said to be readying fans for the release of her forthcoming LP ‘Cymatika Vol. 1′.
While it’s lead single, ‘Fire Starter’, was pushed back from its original summer 2011 release, the songstress is still eyeing a spring 2012 unveiling of its parent album.

‘Heard ‘Em All’ hitmaker Ameriie was all covered up in Beverly Hills recently. The new Mrs. Nelson was seen running errands in a gray sweatshirt and multi-colored dress that left little uncovered on the usually fashion forward songstress.

‘Touch’ singer Ameriie touched down in the country of Georgia this week to perform a slew of fan favorites. Looking to be getting back into the swing of things, the newlywed dazzled the crowd with a performance of her biggest hit to date – ’1 Thing’. And, as ever, she didn’t miss a beat.
