New Song: Keri Hilson – ‘Slow Dance’

Published: Tuesday 26th Aug 2008 by Sam

Keri Hilson - 'Slow Dance'Recently, ‘Slow Dance’, a new cut from Keri Hilson’s hotly anticipated album ‘In A Perfect World’ surfaced. Produced by Polow Da Don (and co-written by Justin Timberlake), it comes as no surprise, then, that the song bares slight resemblance to Ciara’s ‘Promise’ – also produced by the Atlanta hit-maker.

Keri really seems to be on to a winner with this album of hers; each track I’ve heard thu far has been top notch – this included.
‘In A Perfect World’ hits stores October 7th.

{Many thanks to everybody and their Mama who forwarded this one along! LOL}

    I like Keri, and this is a good song, but it’s just not original enough. She, like many female artists these days, sounds too much as if she’s attended the Beyonce school of lustful riffing and running.

    I like Keri I’m just not a fan of her music. I think she should stick to writing songs and being the video chick.. I won’t be buying the album..

    It’s the beginning of the verses that sound like Promise. But I like this song better. But there is also something Beyonce-ish to this song. Something in the phrasing. Still, I like the song a lot.

    Im not sure why anyone would tell her to go back to writing songs and being a video chick when she can actually sing. maybe girls like ciara, rhianna, or cassie should just be video girls, it is promise esque, but she can sing so i dont care, her harmonies are on point.

    1. Its not even produced by polow its produced by “The Royal Court”.

    2. Sounds nothing like promise. But something about the track makes me think of tweet. Listen to the backing on the verses and generally throughout the song. Very tweet like.
