Beyonce Tickets Sell Out In Trinidad!

Those of you who wanted to attend the VVIP section of  Beyonce’s ‘I Am…Yours’ tour in Trinidad and Tobago have just missed your chance. Hours after tickets went on sale for the event, which will be held in the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain, the VVIP passes, priced at $1, 600 TT ($254 US) were the first to be sold out. Beyonce will be performing in the 25, 000 person venue on February 18th, 2010.

Beyonce never ceases to amaze me. As a Trinidadian,  have witnessed first hand the magnitude of her international appeal. Literally everyone in my country is buzzing about this concert; young, old and in between. No other act in recent times who has come to our shores, including Kanye West, Whitney Houstonor Rihanna, has captured so much public interest. In fact, her show is actually selling almost as well as some of our local entertainers during the Carnival season, a rare feat for a foreign artist. I will be there!

Side: There have been string of erroneous and false reports that have been floating around today. Several self-proclaimed credible news sources ignore simple details such as the exchange rate between our currency and the US. Furthermore, although the tour listing originally stated that the concert will be held in the Queen’s Park Oval, the venue has been moved to the Savannah where a stage will be specially constructed (the norm in my country for shows of this magnitude), a fact that many other sites clearly did not take the time to investigate.

Thoughts?

  6. Ghetto Fab December 30, 2009

Duh I’m West Indian too. They love any American act they can get. So its not a surprise that her tickets sold out that fast.

  7. J-Wellz December 30, 2009

    @BEYDABESS

  9. Anne December 30, 2009

I hope she comes back to the U.S. soon & hopefully I’ll get a chance to attend. I agree wutg the Michael Jackson comparison. Beyonce is the closest to his throne or the female equivalent performance wise if you ask me. I heard John Legend making the same comparison a couple of months ago. She just owns the stage like Michael use to. I can’t think of anyone more equipped and with more potential than Beyonce has to one day attain the status that Michael had. I think she’s simply the best all around entertainer right now.

  10. I Am… December 30, 2009

yea its EARLY too say she is the next MJ but she is the NEXT in line…. just waiting for everyone else to see it

  11. Ghetto Fab December 30, 2009

@ANNE, you must be crazy comparing Beyawnce to Michael Jackson. They have nothing in common other than her clear jacking of his and Janet’s style. All Beyawnce does is shake her ass and stanky wig in a leotard while singing teenage pop music. She should be embarassed of her self.

  12. Parisian girl December 30, 2009

    Oh lord please take me!
Beydabess u are the reason why beyonce fans get on my nerves!!i know all her fans are not as crazy as you but damn b**** calm down!!!
Can u please write in english i cant even read what u wrote
    u are so embarassing!
    I just cant…

  13. Anne December 30, 2009

Well, whatever. I guess it’s debatable and to early to know whether she’s the next Michael or not but for now I’m sure she feels good about being the present Beyonce. She’s made quite a name and career for herself with or without the MJ comparison.

  14. hilllee December 30, 2009

as a trinidadian I can tell you that american acts do not sell out that quickly….its a myth

  15. KingMo December 30, 2009

I’m a Trinidadian and I bought my 2 VVIP tickets today tho…they had available in San Fernando where I live, they wer eonly sold out in POS…thank God. But the hype is CRAZY! Some of my friends who aren’t even that big Beyonce fans are buying VVIP…sad but true. lol…But I’m glad I got mine.

  16. KingMo December 30, 2009

I just have to say, u guys r getting mad at Trent, but he’s telling the truth tho…I love in Trinidad too and when Rihanna came, the buzz wasn’t even close to what Beyonce is creating. I can honestly say it’s the magnitude of the production and also the magnitude of the artist…Beyonce is obviously bigger than Rihanna…and the performance factor is WAAAAAY higher. So people are obviously more excited.

  17. whystillinbusiness December 30, 2009

Let him speak his mind, she cant sing, she cant sing….. Rihanna needs help and y’all know it! They know what kind of show they will be getting pure fire! Beyonce is getting ready to rock their world… Go Beyonce!!!

  18. Nick December 30, 2009

I was just in Trinidad/Tobago (with the US NAVY), & I must say I had a BLAST! I met a few good people, & will stay in touch, they showed me a really good time…I wish I could be there for this show tho man !!! We were just speaking of her going there too, saying how many people would go, & BAM IT HAPPENED!! WORK BEYONCE ….. also its 2010 people, let go & let GOD, lets spread love, & not hate, life is too short…be thankful for breathing, and enjoy every second…lets not put people down for living their dream, we all have dreams, lets pursue them, and make the world a better place —- 🙂

  19. SWAGGEDUPSTUD December 30, 2009

  22. ::SquareBizz2020:: December 31, 2009

    HI HATERS….WERK BEY!!!!

  23. rum&choc’lates December 31, 2009

I’m Trinidadian too…unfortunately i haven’t bought my ticket yet, I just may end up in general admission (Christmas and school fees got me broke) ***shrugs***. But I gotta say, Trent is right, foreign acts usually don’t get that type of feedback down here, especially going into the Carnival season (Trinis LOVE their Carnival!). Folks here are actually cutting back on there expenses for feteing, partying and mas just to see Beyonce. Although I’m a fan, I can tell you I’m really shocked at these turn of events….the excitement down here is crazy!

And trust me we’ve had our share of foreign acts…the hype for Beyonce is incomparable though. Oh, yeah…Rihanna came here with John Legend a while back, John had to save the show…cuz she was wack as hell! …child got booed so badly, I almost felt sorry for her. The thing about us trinis, is that if we paid ‘a pound and a crown” to see you we expect to be entertained…even if you can’t sing….OWN THE STAGE! GET THE CROWD MOVING!

  24. 12345 December 31, 2009

no1 will be the next MJ, alot less this ghetto wannabe puppet, MJ is a genius, he even had some hidden orchestras, he didnt steal lyrics and he didnt copy anyone. If you want to compare Beyonce to an older singer, compare her to Tina Turner, because EVERYTHING she does, all her dance moves all her face expressions in the concerts are from Tina Turner. MJ didnt talk about putting a ring on it while your single, ROFL!
    RESPECT THE KING!

  25. Beysus’s Brazilian Fan December 31, 2009

Here in Brazil, she sell out two dates and the other two are almost there. Rio and Salvador had a high demand, a lot of newspapers were taking pictures and doing interviews with the fans.. I wish that were more dates, a lot of fans are sad ‘cuz they couldn’t buy..

P.S. She sell out faster than Madonna, and Madonna only had one date, she had 4. *-*

    Go, go, Beysus!

  26. MORE TRUTH December 31, 2009

    WHO THE F*** CARESSS.

  27. Miss Havisham December 31, 2009

She is gorgeous but that outfit is ridiculous. These people have ONE time to see her; just ONCE, so I’m not surprised she sold out…i mean the venue sold out.

  28. Miss Havisham December 31, 2009

Janet Jackson is the next Michael Jackson and has been since her ‘Control’ album.

Beyonce is the next Tina Turner. Don’t get it twisted. Beyonce’s ‘dance’ moves are not all technical, but she does command the stage like Miss Tina and will continue to do so into her 40s and 50s (provided her knees don’t go out from all that sashaying and twerking and dropping it like it’s hot and booty poppin’ she does calling it ‘dancing’ while in FIVE INCH HEELS).

Beyonce – Tina Turner NOT Michael Jackson.

Tina Turner has mad hype internationally too. Her last tour she sold like bananas. THAT’s the proper comparison; not Michael.

  29. Ayeola/The Lime Blog January 3, 2010

Didn’t know you were Trini….cool. I am from Dominica. Beyonce is hot man. no surprise that tickets sold out.

  30. kayla February 19, 2010

i was at the concert (Beyonce that is) and it was “boss”!!! B CAN ROCK A SHOW!! the only thing off was the seating ( or as in this case- standing) accomodations. some of the vvip, all of vip and general admission had to view the concert from two screens but, that is fine cuz’ she was rockin!! the best (other than helo, single ladies and irreplaceable) was when she mixed her hit song- check up on it, with T&T’S hot Palance and she herself started “pallancin'”. the highlight of the concert was at the end when she broke down and began crying. it was the best experience ever!!
