The only thing I find interesting is that Rihanna somehow replaced her label mates number 1 from last week according to Y2K Malone. I haven’t trusted Billboard’s stats since Clay Aiken released his first album because everything that is tallied up by them seems to be able to be affected by label $$$ and connections.
Def Jam saw the song was catching on and decided to throw all their resources dedicated to Rihanna at it to get it to number 1 ( probably sacrificing Mr.Cruz’s spot) so that she would have a #1 hit song off of Rated R. Now they can package her album saying that her highly anticipated and well recieved album Rated R has a #1 song and hopefully this will spawn more hits and increase her sales.
The more I look at some of this I see politics and power being thrown around to create stars. Interscope did it with GaGa ( she got alot of radio airplay before her album even went gold), in fact Interscope got in trouble a few years back for payola ( paying radio stations to play their artists). Both ladies are under Universal Music Group so expect to hear more of their songs played continiously because UMG has alot of $$ to throw . UMG has done a tremendous job of creating a brand of their superstars

I dont know if this is the last single for Rated R, some say that it is some say it isnt, personally I would like her to launch a new single, maybe Photographs or Te Amo (this song is already blowing up on radios around the world), some say that Rockstar would be a good single but I dont think it would have that much success
Gratz to her, I am actually a Chris Brown fan and Lady Gaga fan but I will say this. The video for Rude Boy was well done I liked it, the song not so much but its ok. I actually hated the Lady Gaga Telephone video though and the song telephone was trash and I am a gaga fan.
Now I think Rihanna did wonderful on the video for Rude Boy, not great at dancing but she is a great STUDIO only singer, I also think she is pretty and Im a female saying this nobody can say she is ugly and be serious, really.
Thing is I just dont want to see her try to sing this song live is all.
