Following her recent suicide attempt, R&B star Fantasia resurfaced this week in her home-town Charlotte, North Carolina. According to our good friends over at Sound-Savy, the 25 year old was a surprise performer at the city’s annual Big Chill event last night (August 20th).
After being welcome with raptous applause, the American Idol alum said:
“I been in the house for a week so you know I’m bout to act ugly… When they said it was over for me, I’m here to say I’m back!”
She then launched into an emotionally-charged rendition of current single ‘Bittersweet’ – which you can watch below…
Ms. Barrino was testifying! Gotta love the sincerity in her performances.
‘Back to Me’, Fantasia’s third studio album, hits stores next Tuesday (August 24th).

Hollywood can’t deal with the truth. Fanny has a truthful image and people would rather live in make-believe. It’s takes a real woman to show her flaws in an industry that is full of make-believe perfection. Fanny admitted that she did not graduate from H.S., and everybody pounced on her. But, Drew Barrymore, Paris Hilton, Chris Rock, Mary J., didn’t graduate either, and the public didn’t pounce on them.
I would forever support Fantasia, because she says, “Look at me. Here I am for the world to see.”

i lost respect for this talented woman
Uhmm Diane, jennifer hudson took about 2-3 months off. Don’t remember how much time Kanye took off. But what i’m trying to say is. You can’t compare what they went through to Fantasia’s situation, because both were/are far worse than what Fantasia is dealing with right now. Also neither one of them took a bottle of aspirin, to get attention and sympathy from the media. If she was’nt involved with a married man, she would not be in the situation she is in today.
Forgot to mention . I can’t take her running around on stage like a s****. It annoys me lol
