It looks like the American Music Awards didn’t need an interruption from Kanye West to generate a scandal. It is being reported that both Chris Brown and Lady GaGa were snubbed at last evening’s event and not given their trophies because of their failure to attend the ceremony.
According to Neon Limelight, Brown’s award for ‘Best R&B/Soul Male’ was given to Usher instead, although his name was clearly written on the prompter as the winner. Furthermore, GaGa’s manager, reportedly Troy Carter, claimed that Justin Bieber was awarded her title of ‘Artist of the Year’.
Interestingly, during Usher’s peculiar acceptance speech after collecting trophy for ‘Best R&B/Soul Male’ he made sure to highlight that Brown was “home”. Check out all the details below:

If this is indeed true then it simply another example of the industry politics that occur behind the scenes. All of these shows (including the Grammy Awards) are riddled with conflict and the rightful winners of these trophies are very rarely awarded. Kanye West wasn’t joking when he through his tantrum at last year’s MTV VMA.

Well, a good example is Mariah Carey. She won 5 Grammys over her career, but in 1996 Daydream was 6-time nominated & she didn’t receive one, although it was a worldwide megaseller. And for Mimi; MC won 3 Grammys, but she didn’t receive one of them during the show. But who needs awards anyway? The fans have to appreciate the music, everything else doesn’t matter. This other stuff about CB and Gaga, I’m not sure if I believe it completely but maybe they wanted to present awards to people who were actually there ( Gaga did recieve an award but it wasn’t broadcast). Eminem won at least one, one which was broadcast and he wasn’t there ( i remember because the camera panned way out ). Actually if you all look at the broadcast, really no one was there. I didn’t even see some of the performers out in the audience.

Anywho, I really do believe that Usher deserved his win. He had a string of hits this year and several No. 1’s, on the Pop and R&b charts. I actually think that they all deserved to win. Trey has been working really hard for years and he has finally started to get some recognition for his work. Trey has stayed true to himself and released all r&b music. I also believe Chris deserved it because he had a terrific year (compared to last year). ‘Deuces’ was a huge hit on the r&b charts (and did well on Hot 100) and was No. 1 for 10 weeks. He is the comeback kid to me! Either one of them winning would have been cool with me because the Male r&b category was one of the only, if not the only, category where all the nominess were truly deserving.
However if CB recieved the most votes, he should have been given his award. It doesn’t matter if he was’t there, Lady Gaga, Eminem and Shakira weren’t there but they all got their awards! I find it really odd how all the other nominess that were on the teleprompter won, but CB was the only one that didn’t! Seems fishy as hell! I don’t think Neon Limelight would make that up! I remember when Alicia Keys was nominated for several Grammy awards along with India Irie (sp?) one year and they gave each and everyone of those awards to Alicia over India. They both had moster CD’s that year and both should have been awarded at least one each. Like I said, these fixed, fake as* award shows are a trip!

Hay Chris fans I just heard that AMA rating dropped 22%. Also I was watching the news and they were talkling about Dancing With The Stars if the numbers are fix or not. But I tell you one the there is no one talking about the AMA like they used to. Now people are wondering that the people who got awards, was it fixed also. To me this is something to think about.

To be honest if Chris doesn’t win or get nominated for another award or have another #1 single or album I would be ok with that. The reason why is because Chris is so talented that his talent speak for itself. He or his fans don’t have to bring up how talented he is cause it speak for itself.
The difference between Chris stans and Rihanna stans is that when Chris wins a award or gets a hit single on the charts his stan don’t have to keep bringing it up everytime they have a discussion or arguement with someone of another fanbase because Chris talent and success speaks for itself [I wish I could say the same for Rihanna]
The only thing Rihanna stans can talk about is 8 #1 singles. How is she better then Beyonce when she can’t even get a #1 album. You make more money from albums not singles. A single cost like $1 and some change or .99cent and a album is like 10 to maybe 14 15 dollars. With singles your not making enough money because most of the money from the singles are going to the writers of the song and your only gone get like 5% maybe less then that but with albums your making more money but it all depends how many albums you sold.
You see once this LOUD era is over Rihanna is going to have to pay Def Scam back all their money. She has to pay for all the promo she got she has to pay the song writers and producers and Def Scam for the singles and albums they bought. So she not really getting that much money anyways and has she even had her name on frobes list yet.

Wow! On all levels and as a buying fan of all the artist I can tell someone was cheated.
I can’t say that Usher did great this yr/last yr. His last album is his personal worst since his 1st album as a kid. Usher did NOT have several hits. He had 1 overall hit,” OMG “. “There Goes My Baby”& “Hey Daddy” were not mainstream hits and Trey Songz had r&b hits too so that wouldn’t give him edge . Trey Songz “Bottom Up” & “Say Aah” charted top 10 on r&b and US charts, Can’t Be Friends was #1 R& B song. So chart wise Usher didn’t slay enough.
His other songs did not reach top 20 on US except “DJ Got Us Falling In Love” but it’s #50 on r&b charts….
“Neighbors Know My Name” did the same as “Lil Freak” on US AND R&B charts.
Chris didn’t do just “do well” with “Deuces”, he broke a chart record. It was the longest number one urban (hint: r& b) song THIS WHOLE YEAR. Besides that Chris did have a top ten US hot 100 album in “Graffiti” and it was #1 on r&b chart. Plus “I Can Transform You” was top 20 US chart. From Chris Brown’s previous sales it wasn’t his best but he is still doing better then a lot of r&B artists (Lloyd,Omarion, Mario, etc) , so the whole flop and such debate is null.

We all were led to believe that the awards go to who has the most votes – so we CB fans worked nite and day on this. And I’m sure Chris won with the votes. He has the most die-hard true-blue fans, stayed with him through the thick and thin. But now we find its more than votes – someone’s making decisions based on airplay and stuff – like who know’s and owe’s who.
