Beyond scratching my head at how 6 years have flown by so fast, it was also unbelievable to reflect on the path each of the ladies careers have taken. With Mari clearly billed as the main attraction and Amerie effortlessly making the part her own, who would have thought Rihanna and her mechanical whine would emerge as the most successful. Or have more number #1’s than the group she was tributing? Sigh.

Talking about Kelly, I think she really did a bad a move when she fired Matthew Knowles and moved on for a new management.
With Matthew, she always had few couples of hits charting. “Like This” even charted in US and it turned into a urban hit. She had worldwide hit single with that remix of “Work”, it did pretty well in Europe, Oceania and Asia. And her first album “Simply Deep” was pretty well received in the international market.
With this new management, we don’t even know what’s the album’s title! And that’s pretty dumb move, ’cause she had started to promote “Commander” when there wasn’t even a date of releasing her third album. And we still don’t know what’s the album’s title, what will serve as its next single and when the album will be released… Actually, will it be released someday? It doesn’t seem like.

First you say that Beyoncé has been in the game for over 12 years, and then say she “only managed to sell 20 million albums worldwide since 2003”. Well fool, this is the year 2011, not 2015, so 2003 was eight years ago, not 12. Beyoncé has sold 20 mil as a solo artist, so if you’re trying to count her album sales from the entire time she’s been in showbiz, then you have to include her days in DC, and that means counting the albums she sold with them. Don’t make it seem like she’s been sitting on her ass doing nothing since the late 90s until 2003. Second, Beyoncé may have been here longer than Rihanna, but she has released fewer albums (as a solo artist, since we’re only counting the 20 million albums she has sold). Three albums vs Rihanna’s five and as you say, with fewer number ones. Now you do the math as to whose album sales look more impressive. Third, you are wrong that Beyoncé has been declining in sales with each album , because IASF outsold B’Day. Next time you try to defend your fave using numbers, make sure you come correct with FACTS, not lies or deliberate exaggerations, mmkay?

Now that I watched the video I can admit that as a WHOLE the performance was decent and solid not great but it was nice. If you judge them individually yess they all hit the right notes but I feel as though amerie had the most confidence and did the best. TM was ok I don’t feel she did beys part any true justice but she was cute trying lol. Rih was kinda stiff and unremarkable. She had little stage presence, dancing was mediorcre. And her voice was actually almost enjoyable. I’m glad she’s upped her game though.

This is so cute. I can honestly say that both of these girls are more talented than Rihanna, but Rihanna brought something different—the ability to change and be molded. She has a unique voice that fits to more than one type of song, she can be a pop artist. These other girls don’t have that, and the label saw that. That’s why they invested in Rihanna. They saw the potential for pop hits, and she’s making them!

When Rihanna came out in the 2000’s in that time (and still right) you had get discovered in order to get signed. Wich is a case of being at the right place at the right time. Have you asked “most” Beyoncé fans their opinions on rock stars? If not, then you’re merely making unfounded generalizations. Rihanna does NOT represent the rock genre at all, so a Beyoncé fan finding Rihanna an untalented singer/performer does not mean they will feel the same way about rockers.

When I spoke to you last, we were talking about Bey doing rock and what The_Kiddz said is right. Remember who is HER “mom” in the industry(Tina Turner) and the music that TT did(funk first and then Rock-Soul next).
We have an album discussion on bwboard that’s over 300 pages and the album hasn’t come out yet so we have a lot of discussions on what kind of album that we would like to see. And as for the fans wanting Bey doing a full jazz album, we have been talking about since the B’day era. I really thought that the tribute needed a little work, it was very mediocure. They weren’t in sync and I don’t know if it’s me, but it just came across as a bit competitive. It was almost as if they were more set out performing each other instead of a sense of unity. I never really cared for Tierra Marie. She’s like that girl in highschool that’s not a knockout, but far from unattractive… yet, still very conceited. She’s not very graceful and she’s too prissy to really work a stage. She may be underrated, but she’s certainly not my cup of tea. Amerie is the best out of the 3, she has the most raw talent. She’s got the total package. Looking at the “old Rihanna” makes me have so many conflicting thoughts. On the one hand she has grown into her identity, she much more comfortable in her own skin and she delivers on that image and mood that she’s trying to portray for her audience. That’s a plus, but she’s lost that spunk and vibrant energy. I suppose I prefer today’s Rihanna because she appeared to be lost and in need of guidance before, but I notice she was more active when she was younger.
Off topic, I don’t know why people swear that Beyonce’s fans are so disinterested in other female artist. There are so many great ones that can before her and a few that are her peers. I think we get a bad rep for that. I’m sure that there’s only a few that walk around with such a smug attitude. Most Beyonce fans are lovers of music and I find that they love variety from my own personal expeience!
