Will You Be Buying J. Cole’s ‘Cole World’ Album?

Published: Tuesday 27th Sep 2011 by Sam

Today marks the global release of J.Cole‘s debut album ‘Cole World: The Sideline Story’.

The hotly anticipated set was was preceded by a slew of hype-building mixtapes, as well as a fair share of drama (see: delays, rumoured Roc Nation split). However, with all that now a figment of the past, the North Carolina native moves onto pastures new with the release – one which is being billed by Hip-Hop enthusiasts as one the year’s most awaited.

Yet beyond the hype which oft greets such releases, we’re keen to hear what you think. Will you be buying ‘Cole World’? Already heard it or have it; does it live up to expectation?

It’s the best hip hop album i’ve heard in ages. I’m a die hard Kanye/Jay fan but must admit WTT wasn’t the hip hop album of 2011 as i’d expected it to be. This album reminds me of Kanye in the College Dropout/Late Registration era, which is something I never thought i’d hear again. Love it!

Yes! Will get my copy today. I’m very excited what he’ going to bring in the hip-hop community because he is the next big successful MC. #COLEWORLD. =)

As I’ve said before, whilst it’s a great album and much better than some of his peers can’t even dream of producing, it just doesn’t live up to the expectations that he created himself when he tweeted about his music changing the game.It would be difficult to buy it because I’m European, but at the same time it’s just not good or special enough to make me get it from Amazon and pay all those shipping fees, like I do with the REALLY good albums that I need to have…

I will ONLY buy it if there’s a RIHANNA -featured song In it 😉

But no one knows this guy here !

Jay-z , 2pac, and kanye west and maybe LUDACRIS are the only popular rappers here ! so I don’t think his album will be available here !

already got it. its a great album if you consider the rest of the hiphop albums which have come out this year, definity a breath of fresh air. however it fell short of my high expectations for him (last two mixtapes were amazing) and the hype that this was a game changer and a classic. only time will tell if this album is the classic cole says it is, but so far im still a fan.

It was released early on iTunes uk, been listening to it all day. It’s so personal he really spits what’s in his heart and has good delivery and overall concept us real to many.
Wish somebody made guidelines on how to get out of the sidelines- who can’t relate to that feeling?

I just listened to it online. It was a great album…the beats and the lyrics. My 2nd fave hip hop album so far this year. I think J Cole will be the next big rapper.
