New Video: J.Cole – ‘Lost Ones’

Published: Wednesday 26th Oct 2011 by Sam

Newcomer J.Cole keeps his momentum ablaze with the video for ‘Lost Ones’ – the latest cut to be lifted from his chart-topping debut ‘Cole World: The Sideline Story’.

Until now, the impassioned clip -shot interestingly in 2008- had been spoken about, yet never seen.

Check it out after the jump…

    WOWWWWWW……………..This video is very provocative. J Cole is a force to be reckoned with.. But, if this video was shot in 1998, and he’s 23 now, wouldn’t he have been like 10 years old. Maybe, you meant 2008? Way to rep North Carolina J Cole!!!!!!!!

  3. YAAAS BOO! October 26, 2011

    One of his best songs, in the top 3 for sure.The video was great and it showcased the emotion of the song.Really raw.Now I wish his whole album (and all his videos) were like that…

    This is the s*** that made me fall in love with his music, hopefully he’ll start putting more of this out and less of the stuff he’s doing now.

    J Cole puts out stuff like Work Out and Can’t Get Enough because anyone with common sense knows you need commercial records to get radio play and recognition. Songs like Lost Ones, Lights Please,etc would never get play on radio or tv, much less be noticed by the average consumer. People keep talking about they want better and deeper music, but they truly don’t, because their money supports uptempo and dumb down music.

    No point of releasing singles like Lost Ones if radio and tv will never play it.

    @FLAWDA Where is ‘Can’t Get Enough’ in the charts right now??Is it on ANY chart at all??How long did it take for ‘Work Out’ to take off on radio??If you can answer these questions (as someone who claims to have common sense) then you’ll understand that your theory is flawed 😉

    I love this video from J Cole! It’s thought provoking. Gr8 job J Cole. Keep it up.

    It says 2008? Did I miss something?

    And seriously a wonderful song J, I have faith in the work that you do and I LOVE the album. I think I brings a lot of deep songs. Maybe they aren’t as well versed as the mixtapes but they are good songs, better than most artists have out.

    ASAP …:/ I feel like you come to his post and lightway just dog him. Like why? Why continuously bring up your dislike of his album and how he doesn’t have a hit.?

    What the f*** is it with the people on this site being fanatics about chart placing and numbers? People are going to like the artists that they like whether they’re top on billboard or not, and thats how it should be. It’s called being a fan. Not a stan of someone because they chart high. Petty.

    Boring

  14. Lifee October 26, 2011

    @Get Real
    I agree.

    @ASAP
    Even Nas, Pac, and the rest of the greats made songs like “Oochie Wally” “How Do You Want It” I Get Around” and other songs that don’t display conscious lyrical content in HOPES ti get radio play and to attract other people.

    As long as he has songs like this and other deep meaningful songs, I’m satisfied. Can’t enough of them!

  15. ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) October 26, 2011

    @GET REAL The hell??All I said is that I disagreed with the theory that hip hop artists CANNOT release meaningful music because it flops.And I proved that wrong by saying that ‘Can’t Get Enough’ is a relatively commercial song that failed to make an impact, while ‘Lost Ones’, which according to that person’s theory was supposed to remain unnoticed, is still a fan favorite.I didn’t shade him or bash him or slate him, I just disagree with the generalization that deep hip hop doesn’t find success.That’s all

    What the f*** is it with people on this blog being so willing to take a comment and take it out of context and what the f*** is it with people here starting to generalize (fanatic with chart position etc etc) based on a 4-line comment… REALLY??

    @LIFEE Of course they did.The person that I responded to said that hip hop artists HAVE to release commercial music, so I just said that real hip hop music that’s not radio friendly can still find its way to the charts and have an impact.That was my point, before being blown out of proportions by GET REAL 🙄

  16. Get Real October 26, 2011

    Asap….seriously I’ve seen you on most everyone of his posts lightway dogging his album. Even before it dropped, which meant you listened to the leak. Don’t be mad at the truth man.

  17. am so am so proud of you. October 26, 2011

    nice vid and great message.

  18. ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) October 26, 2011

    @GET REAL Of course I listened to the leak because his album will not be released in my country 🙄 And what you consider truth is your fast assumptions.I don’t know for how long you’ve been checking for J Cole, but I’ve been listening to his music since the 2nd mixtape, so, mind you, I have the right to be disappointed.If I wanted to throw shade to him, I WOULD do it in a more open way.I wouldn’t praise his music.J Cole said it himself that he’s happy he got the No.1 album with no Billboard hits, so which part exactly out of what I said came across as shade??The fact that I repeated something he has said himself and doesn’t bug him at all??

    🙄

    And yes, I didn’t like his album.It’s miles better than his competition, but I didn’t like it as much as I thought I would.Don’t I have the right to say it?SMH
