Britney has 3!! Beyonce has 1 with DIL and I am came close unfortunatly is around the 8 mill mark plus two more with destinys child, christina has one with stripped, and gaga has one with the fame .. What is true is that people simply did not steal music then as much as they do now because it’s easier to steal now.
People bought “DIL” and “Stripped” because they were fantastic albums. I can’t speak, personally, for Britney because I never liked her like that but people LOVED her music which is why they bought it.

Took her 3 albums to even reach 5 mill mark with GGGB and then another 2 albums to get there again .. So yeah maybe britney and bey (dnt give a s*** about christina) have 4 and femme fatale not selling as well as ALL of their previous ones .. But rihanna has rated r and two other completely irrelevant albums that to this date haven’t sold what 4 and femme fatale have .. Child plz rihannas stats crumble even when bein compared to ashanti ..

And about my other point that people had to buy albums if they like one or two song it is true cuz as soon as digital singles came out and people were able to but separately from the album album sales dropped…..didnt they not??????

@kerron of course it affected sales but let’s not all pretend that the material u put out doesn’t make a HUGE difference in how ppl receive ur music .. I don’t like the term generic because that means different things to different ppl but trendy is deff a word u could use to describe rihannas music .. If rihanna made an album like alicia keys and was gettin number one after number one I’d be like YESS B**** UR KILLIN THE GAME!! But rude boys and onlys girls and s&ms and we found loves .. Come on now her team knows wat they are doing and what ppl wana hear .. California king bed and man down flopped because they diverted too far from the formula .. I’m not a rihanna hater I say more power to her but can we at least be honest and say that rihannas ride to the top has been incredibly strategic, and I can’t deny that if I was a singer I would want her team working for me .. They know how to revamp and hire the write ppl

I’m a late bloomer in terms of Gaga. I ALWAYS liked her videos from day one but i was never into her music. I really didn’t get into her music until I heard “Heavy Metal Lover,” “Bloody Mary,” ‘Scheibe,” and “Government Hooker.” This is BRILLIANT Gaga IMO. But I am totally in the minority on this one.
@JAMIR21, “Rated R” is a brilliant album–absolutely! But since you’re a fan I ask that you listen to “We All Want Love” again. By far, my favorite track on “TTT.” Very moving.
@kerron and I dnt kno where u got this not about sales??? I dnt remember sayin that .. Obv that’s apart of it labels aren’t bugeting videos and studio time not to make anything back BUT at certain points in ppls careers sales are either very important or not so much .. I think what beyonce stans mean to say (although I can’t speak for anyone) for a woman with so many accolades, coming from the BIGGEST SELLING girl group of all time and 4 number albums 3 of which has gone platinum more times than I can count sales dnt hold the weight they do to a newer artist .. I’m sure bey would love to have sold 20 million but that’s not gna happen everytime especially when ur decide to try somethin else and fire ur manager all before starting a new era

You made some points that i cannot disagree with but When rihanna made Rated R i think i could remember alot of people calling it a flop….but i also think that rihanna puts her own twist on songs that no one else could sing like WMN and Rude Boy
But i just realize something as i am typing this beyonce’s #1 Check up on it, Single Ladies and the rest arent those #1’s generic or should i say trendy too.
I will say this there is a simple minded majority that likes songs that are not too deep or that does have them thinging twice about what the lyrics really mean so albums like 4 and Rated R dont get appreciated

Absolutely! “Man Down” is my FAVORITE song from LOUD and the best song on the album in my opinion but it was a bit too…..challenging.

And interestingly enough Man Down did really well Internationally in place like France Netherlands Belgium and Switzerland (it was #1 in France for 4 weeks)
I thought that this was odd because you would expect the more urban song to do well in the US and not Europe but that’s just to show you you cant always put the consumers in a box
I was kind of disappointed in You Da One and Talk that Talk.
The snippets were hot as hell but I’m glad that they leaked in full so I can have full judgment. You almost had me fooled Rih Rih.
