Following her controversial cover of The Throne‘s ‘N”gga’s In Paris‘ today, Katy Perry‘s mouth has landed her in more hot water.
For, in what can only force us to wonder just who she and Rihanna ‘chit chat’ about behind closed doors, the ‘Teenage Dreamer‘ has weighed in on Beyonce’s 2007 duet with Shakira, ‘Beautiful Liar‘.
Her remarks below…
Dishing on her upcoming cut with fellow the ‘Fading‘ singer, she said:
I want it to be like that Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin song Sisters Are Doin’ It for Themselves, not Beautiful Liar. But I definitely want to do something that is so iconic.
Rihanna’s kind of busy too. We’re both busy but we planted the seed two years ago. How disappointed would you be if that song came out and it’s no good? Sometimes you have to wait for greatness.
This, followed by a number of Twitter attacks aimed at Perry, a few of which read:
Katy Perry, did you really think it’s a good idea to diss someone who has more Grammys than your age? Beautiful Liar slays your career. SIT.
Katy Perry dissed Beautiful Liar? how can someone so basic and vapid diss a legend like Beyonce omfg.
Katy Perry‘s existence is irritating and irrelevant.
Katy Perry throws shade at Beyonce, then covers Bey’s husband’s song w/ the word “N*gga” in the title…. She bold.
Our two cents:
To be fair, everyone- including talent deficient Pop tarts- has their right to their own opinion.
Indeed, while it’s all too easy to slam Perry for her remarks, we can’t but understand where she comes from.
For, when your surface successful career is built off singles that could have been recorded by any Tom, Dick or Harriett- it’s easy to forget your place and spew baseless lines like these.
But what do you think?
