To date, it has grossed over $100 million overseas- possibly in part to Fenty’s role in it. Ironic, as it really is a ‘blink and you’ll miss’ affair.

But that’s not the “end all” – no way! There’s still much..”overhead” costs that has to be calculated. This is why the standard industry metric of “1.4 X known costs” is employed by “Kagan SNL” – a long-time and well-respected accounting firm that the film industry references. 1.4 X $450-Million = $630-Million. This “$630-Million” is the “failure bar” that ‘B’ship’ must now hurdle. For it to be a “without-question success”, it has to return “1.75 X known costs”.
As you can see, for a film like “Battleship”, that (630-170) $460-Million, with films like “Avengers”, the bad reviews, and bad-word-of-mouthing that it’s getting makes that “$460-Million-safe shore” far-out of reach..!!

ST&D has no actual receipts detailing the “get to theater cost” for Battleship. If ST&D had such a receipt, it would’ve posted it by now. ST&D only has an article with details about other films (not Battleship), most of which haven’t even grossed 170M in 17 weeks, let alone 17 days like Battleship has. Next week, Battleship will cross the 200M mark, and it hasn’t even been a month since the overseas release. Battleship cost 200-250M to make, and it will recoup the production budget before it opens in the US. It has 50M in promo liscencing deals
