Britney Spears Announces New Album Title

Published: Tuesday 15th Oct 2013 by Sam

Britney Spears‘ new single ‘Work B*tch’ may struggling to smash in the way prior efforts have, yet that hasn’t quelled the anticipation for its parent album.

Due in stores on December 3rd, little else beyond that fact has been shared about the LP.

However, that all changed moments ago during the 31-year old’s visit to London’s Capital FM radio.

There, the megastar shared what her millions of fans have waited in anticipation of — the album’s title.

Find out what Spears’ eighth studio effort has been christened after the jump…

‘Britney Jean’

….is what the performer has labelled the set.

Relaying the rationale behind the title, Spears explained that ‘Britney Jean’ is what her close friends and family have called her since childhood and given how “personal” the project is, it was a fitting name.

Peep the video interview below…

********

For us, the title couldn’t be more inconsequential. It’s the material and accompanying performances we care about.

That said, Spears literally couldn’t be more textbook if she tried. How many folk over the years have wheeled out the “insert own name” album title, pointing to how “personal” it supposedly makes the project?

Add to that how “personal” ‘Work B*tch’ isn’t and we’re altogether confused as to what she’s trying to achieve here.

Still, echoing the point above, the true success of the project will ultimately hinges on how hot the music is on the actual album. As such, we’ll hold the fort before casting judgement.

In the meanwhile…

  4. mc the place to be! October 15, 2013

tbh I think her first album is her groundbreaking moment in music and that album is going to be what people remember her by but I’m here for Britney Jean I’m always here for Britney!

  5. Mimi carey October 15, 2013

Idk bout this album she needs to drop a epic second single to give this era some type of hope.

  6. LSZ October 15, 2013

Look at what she’s doing with her hands during this interview. Missed your routine “fix” Britney?

I am looking forward to this album nonetheless, Miss Spears has never disapointed when it comes to her body of work.

    • Britney B**** October 15, 2013

      you’re gross, leave Britney alone!

    • Kween October 15, 2013

I know your ashy ass lips ain’t talking about anybody needing a fix…..

  7. Ricky October 15, 2013

Any hardcore Britney fan is familiar with her being called Britney Jean! This album is for her and her fans! She’s Britney f****** Spears! Numbers don’t matter anymore, she need not compete!

    • cindy October 15, 2013

i am not even a fan, i dont own one britney record but i understand any artist form the nineties. These artist were never in for the competition. Theses new artist all in for competition. who does it better, who has what number of this and that. when i was growing up listening to music before the digitals, artists were just making music without social media boost and music used to sell. britney will continue to do the f*** she wants. she has done it all. true she is not as good as she used to to but for gods sake let her take control of her art without thinking of charting, let her have her moment with her fans.

    • Amaya October 15, 2013

Lol if you think she doesn’t care about numbers you’re delusional.

      • Britey B**** October 15, 2013

She doesn’t care. once you have 2 diamond selling albums you have nothing left to prove. when will your fav?

      • Amaya October 15, 2013

Of course she f****** cares that was over 10 years ago, no one wants to put work into something and then FLOP, no matter how many Diamond albums you have get real and stop being delusional.

      • Amaya October 15, 2013

If she didn’t care, she would be flying across the pond to promote it.

  8. Marc October 15, 2013

Her voice is so feminine, she almost sounds like Marilyn Monroe.

    • Amaya October 15, 2013

B**** don’t insult Marilyn like that

    • ARTFLOP WILL FLOP October 15, 2013

kmt, how dare u compare legend with a basic werk b****.

  9. Reece Davis October 15, 2013

I guess in the end it will depend on the quality of the material but at first glance it’s quite an uninspired title considering she already has an album called “Britney” (which I love btw).

  10. Amaya October 15, 2013

LOL! The curse of the self titled album when its not a debut, ask Ciara.

    • FAF October 15, 2013

but we still don’t know what an Amaya is 🙁

  11. ANNA October 15, 2013

britney spears doenst have the obligation to do what people expect from her nowadays.. SHE HAS ALREADY DONE EVERYTHING !!!! say what you want, the b******* you looove to say about her but the true is she a pop icon, she is still on top, she has had a solid and succesful career and will continue like that. yes. perhaps she is not the artist of the moment but pop music will be nothing without britney
oh, by the way. i like the title! i expected something smashing but is ok… living legend, miss britney spears!!

    • Micks October 15, 2013

so that’s gonna be the excuse if she flops?

    • Mark111 October 15, 2013

Sorry, but that’s a lame logic. If she “already did everything and has nothing to prove”, then maybe she should do this anymore. Y’all sounding like Mariah fans when she flops. How do you have nothing to prove with only 13 years in the game and 4 of those year she had a breakdown? No, Janet has nothing to prove, Madonna has nothing to prove, Dianna Ross, Franklin, Patti, Stevie, and so many others has nothing to prove cause they been in the game for 25+ years.

I don’t hear Usher fans saying that and he been here longer, I don’t hear JT fans saying that nor Beyonce fans. Just admit that Britney has nothing to give anymore.

  12. Oh… October 15, 2013

    She has bad anxiety…. Chill

  13. J October 15, 2013

    I like it!

I could never shade Britney, she was such a big part of my childhood and I’ll always love her for that!

Looking forward to the new album

  14. H2O October 15, 2013

So she couldn’t find an album title better than “Knee Jean” ?

  15. Career Ender October 15, 2013

    She better deliver!

  16. Antonio October 15, 2013

You sound stupid af. Britney already has a self titled album called “Britney” that sold 15 million copies and what does Ciara have to do with this post. Her album leaked, had numerous pushbacks, major competition from Jay-Z on the album charts and from Robin Thicke, Miley Cyrus, Daft Punk and Drake on the songs charts and her lead single wasn’t that strong with will be the same issues Britney will face.

  17. Antonio October 15, 2013

Work B**** is a beyond basic song but Britney’s albums have always been strong, go listen to Britney, In the Zone, Circus and even Femme Fatale. She’s really not a single’d artist, she only has 14 Top 10 Hot 100 hits which compared to the other girls is not alot. She’s sold over 90 million albums and her tours have grossed over $300 million and let’s even mention her endorsements which continue to generate tens of millions every year, she did make $60 million last year. Tbh, Britney is really only putting this album out because she can, not because she has to like Katy, Gaga, Rihanna, Miley and Ciara. The only females from this generation who’ll have the career longevity and respect like Britney are Beyonce, P!nk, Alicia Keys, Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift. Ciara, Rihanna, Katy, Miley and Gaga are hot now but if they didn’t release an album for like 3 yrs, they’d be forgotten tbh

    • ok October 15, 2013

Work b**** is the most basic song going, stop trying it today. You sound f****** stupid

  18. Mark111 October 15, 2013

So this is like her damita joe? She’s always been more Janet influenced than Madonna.

  19. Mark111 October 15, 2013

So this is like her damita joe? She’s always been more Janet influenced than

  20. I Stan For Myself October 15, 2013

    She cant control her hands

  21. ok October 15, 2013

OK, here come the s****** stans saying “this album is for fans” to fall back on if the album flops. Lmfao, ya’ll so basic. Britney Jean is a weak title, how is the album “personally” with a song like ‘work b****’ being lead single… She’s confused and her delusional fans.. Well stay deluded smh

    • ok October 15, 2013

      *personal

    • paul October 15, 2013

Ever considered that Work B**** is directed to everyone because she herself has been working real hard which still makes the song personal?

  22. I Stan For Myself October 15, 2013

‘its just for my fans’ aka I know its going to flop. WTF were all your other albums for?

  23. #IndustryPussy October 15, 2013

the asshole pimple that wrote this is full of hater’s s*** and needs to calm the f*** down. you keep trying to suggest that britney is failing because you can’t stand the EPIC LEVEL OF POWER that she still has in the industry over the talentless and over-ssxed whores that you stan for. thats why you write for a small time BLOG and not some media empire.

    • LOL October 15, 2013

      LOL EPIC LEVEL OF POWER?

WHERE WAS ALL THIS EPIC POWER WHEN FLOP B**** FAILED? LOL

    • Brit Brit BIATCH October 15, 2013

damn right! This tiny little pamplet of a blog is so tired & biased!

  24. Marketing101 October 15, 2013

That Grape Juice really thinks that ‘Work B*tch’ doesn’t have a “personal” feel? She is literally saying get off your a** and work. I hate to assume BUT I would say this is a motto she follows therefore making it personal.

Just because the track isn’t emotional/gushy doesn’t mean it’s not personal.

    • channel_ROMAN October 15, 2013

That’s how I feel when I listen to that record.

  25. Britey B**** October 15, 2013

Let’s see your fav even come close to selling half of what her first two albums sold. Bow to the Queen.

  26. channel_ROMAN October 15, 2013

I like Britney and I like Work B****. If this is a personal record I could see why Work B**** was chosen. Everytime I go to an interview or meeting I have the lyrics playing in my head because that’s how true it is. Remember she was on the verge of losing it all at one point now she’s working. Like someone said before just because it’s not emotional like Dirty Laundry that doesn’t mean she’s not singing from an emotional place. She probably cried writing a couple of records and decide to record Work B**** as a get off your b***, dust your self off and do what you have to do record. Out of Roar, Applause and Work B**** I like Work B**** more. It motivates me to work hard. Who wouldn’t want to drive a Masarati someone that works for the company I work for just brought a Masarati. Who wouldn’t want that? My boss seen his company double while on the beach sipping a Martini what he did, brought 3 more. They told me If I want that lifestyle like them I have to work hard. I’m here for it.
