One day after its surprise release, Beyonce‘s brand new album ‘Beyonce’ is on course to welcome her highest ever opening week figure in the coming days, after it surpassed sales of 430,000 units hours after launch!
Good news below…
Now predicted to shift over 600,000 units by the end of this chart week, the LP is set to welcome the strongest first week sales secured by a female artist since Taylor Swift‘s ‘Red’ scanned 1.2 million units in the November of 2012.
In doing this, ‘Beyonce‘ now finds itself outperforming 2006’s ‘B’Day‘ which debuted with 541,000 units, helped in part by her starring role in Bill Condon’s ‘Dreamgirls‘ and her smash hit single ‘Deja Vu’, which moved 75,000 digital units in its launch week in the June of that year.
Billboard adds:
“Beyonce” shifted slightly over 80,000 in the three hours from 9 p.m. PT to midnight on Thursday evening, putting her Friday sales at roughly 350,000. With two more days left in the sales tracking week, the title could sell over 600,000 before the buzzer sounds.”

As a Beyonce fan, for years I despised Rihanna simply because I saw her as Bey’s competitor and wanted her run out of town by an angry mob, but instead the universe just kept on rewarding her with more and success. Looks like the same thing is happening with Beyonce. Wow ok TGJ has not been working for me for the last 3 or 4 days so let me tell you I knew this sudden release was happening but I´ve not left one single comment or watched any single video or heard any single song. So I don´t know if the album is even good. And everybody knows I´m not into Beyonce.
But let me tell you: she SLAYED. Firstly this was the best imaginable way to release this album at this point of her career. She was needing something truly different. Secondly, from what I´m quickly reading (don´t have time to catch up with all the posts) she is slaying commercially. It seems she´ll have one of those truly huge first week sales everywhere, including the USA. I mean, one of those Rihanna, Milye or Katy and the rest of the talentless lessors will never have. Thirdly, let me tell you I can only imagine the meltdowns that have been happening for the last few days. Like I´ve already said, I´m not going to read all these posts and comments. But I can only imagine the anger, the hate, the pathetic reactions from this sad no lives haters who always hate on clearly bigger artists than those who they stan for. I´m especially thinking about @TROLLBIRD. I mean, that must have been the most shocking moment of the year here on TGJ. On time before 2013 ends LOLOL
