As reports of a Christina Aguilera-assisted remix heat up, Lady GaGa‘s ‘Do What U Want’ sits pretty at #25 on iTunes Italy tonight, doing so as sales of its supporting album ‘ARTPOP’ wink at worldwide sales of 1 million units!
Pretty awesome, considering the project does so with the benefit of only one supporting music video and without the aid of a US #1 single…a chart position no GaGa era- except her latest- has gone without.
Seven spots above comes Lana Del Rey‘s ‘Summertime Sadness.’ Well, the Cedric Vergais remix of the Pop stunner, perched one spot above Katy Perry’s ‘Roar’, two spots above Ellie Goulding‘s ‘Burn‘ and 42 places above its original version, now occupying #60.
On higher ground, Eminem and Rihanna‘s ‘Monster‘ hit finds itself placed at #5 while Beyonce‘s self-titled new album holds court at #2 on iTunes France, as its global sales shimmy and shake towards the 2 million milestone!

Do What You Want is struggling to stay in the top 40 on the US iTunes. Only thing keeping it from tanking down Billboard is that payola deal Gags has. Not even The Voice, which is responsible for Blurred Lines, Say Something, and Counting Stars blowing up could save Do What You Want. At this point, Gags’ stats do the dragging for me. But Sam you forgot to mention the slayage Roar did in Australia
