When Beyonce rocked the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards with a ten-minute rendition of her entire self-titled album, the assumption in many circles was that the performance would serve as a book-end of sorts to the push for the mega-selling LP.
However, a new promotional video for the upcoming MTV Europe Music Awards has the singer’s BeyHive buzzing.
Find out why below…
Granted there was no mention of King B in the clip, the text in its YouTube description was quite telling:
Well, That Grape Juice advises that folk pause before popping the confetti. Why? It’s imperative to note that Miley Cyrus and Eminem both performed at last year’s show – which has us wondering if the text above was a bad copy and paste job.
However, neither Bey or Iggy performed at the 2013 show…and the date stated is correct for this year. Add to that the fact Eminem has an album coming out next month and we’re left somewhat puzzled.
On the one hand, it’s routine for PR’s to save the announcement of the biggest performers ’til nearer the show. Yet, on the other, who wouldn’t announce said names with a longer lead-in to generate buzz?
Needless to say, the week ahead will provide the answers.
The MTV Europe Music Awards 2014 takes place live from Glasgow, Scotland and will be hosted by Nicki Minaj – who will also be performing. Other confirmed names to take to the stage include Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran.
