Rihanna‘s got a new groove…and it’s an independent one.
Starring in the forthcoming children’s movie ‘Home’, the ‘Music of the Sun‘ singer is now planning to drop her first independent release this year, doing so with the movie’s soundtrack.

This year saw fans learned that she had developed her very own record label, Westbury Road Entertainment, built after her quiet departure from Def Jam.
Now, the singer intends to use the company to release ‘Home’s soundtrack and has called on Roc Nation to serve as its distributor, inking a deal with her manager Jay Brown to make it happen.
News of her new deal comes before the movie’s March 27th release date and following the unveiling new single ‘FourFiveSeconds’, lifted from her eighth studio album.

Children’s movies songs tend to be very vocally driven and Broadway-esque. Unless this movies is going to be a-la “Bebe’s Kids” then I don’t Rihanna doing anything above sub par. A “cute tone” doesn’t execute vocal fireworks, properly, ie: 4,5 seconds
