Musical identity?! Britney’s tone and sound is one of the most instantly recognizable in all of Pop music. I’m not even saying that cas I’m a fan but c’mon now! Are you serious?! Who else sounds like her? Besides just because girls stay jacking her signature style since ’98 (see Jessica Simpson, Xtina, Kesha, Selena Gomez, Hillary Duff, Katy Perry and countless others on various tracks) doesn’t mean she’s copying anybody – quite the opposite. She originated the sound Pop went into in the 2000’s just like Aaliyah originated the sound that’s currently making a comeback in R&B. You don’t have to like it or be a fan but don’t downplay her impact.

For what it is, i like it! It sounds like Brit had fun recording this and that’s enough for me. And I’ve missed the urban pop she used to do. I’m so over her euro pop techno edm days. This kind of brings it back to old Britney with a 2015 flare and I’m quite alright with that. And the clip of the video I saw looks promising! I want her to win!
