Saturdays‘ songstress Vanessa White is striking out solo!

While the group are on hiatus (for how long is anyone’s guess), its members are exploring various ventures and for lead Vanessa it’s a playful foray into the world of Urban.

A natural fit, given her trademark runs and powerful vocals, its a sound she soars with on new number ‘Don’t Wanna Be Your Lover.’

Billed as a sample of the songbird’s new sound, the track follows the well-received ‘Relationship Goals.’

Watch the video for ‘Don’t Wanna,’ which was unwrapped moments ago, below…

Good stuff; the choreography was a cool touch too.

We’re enjoying this re-incarnation of Ms. White.

Anyone who’s followed The Saturday’s rise, will know she was the group’s nucleus – so it’s great to see her building towards that solo “moment” the masses have been waiting for.

She reminds me of that Latin chick that Hakeem is tryna smash on Empire currently. She’s got the vocals but ZERO X factor.

Speaking of xfactor and other singing comp shows i dont think there will ever be a black RnB winner for a while on these shows just because of this trend of White RnB wannabees who are gaining POPular/majority recognition!js

For one Vanessa White, isn’t white. For two R & B has been struggling in main stream music for at least a decade now and viewers like you kill me when you are pressed when a person who isn’t black taps into “R & B” or hip hop or rap and gets upset when they get credit. Do you pick up the phone and vote for the black talent on these talent shows, most likely not. When they do win, do you buy their album’s, no. What you do is compare them to another black artist that’s is already out or once was and you don’t support their growth, you want them to stick to what they did 5 years ago and you put them in a box. And that’s why they don’t win and if they do, they don’t reach their potential because people like you. Stop complaining about the problem when you’re part of the problem.

Please, she isn’t black that’s my whole point. White Rnb or those who don’t look black and especially are not black is the new big thing No one cares that much about the normal blk singers it seems like lol Singing comp shows have really given white Rnb the spotlight and pple are blown away by them. Example, a white radio host made a comment about Katy Perry who was belting out some serious Rnb like runs and was really blown away but thought she should stay in her lane of pop! When record labels producers etc catch on to the belief the newcomers like Tori Kelly not obviously black she’s f****** RNB Alissa Cara, not obviously blk, she’s f****** Rnb too and her song Here is being played EVERYWHERE are more bankable/marketable then is unfair to blk artists like Seven Streeter JuStin Skye and Tinashe. EVEN if black supported them 100 percent they’d still be put in the box getting URBAN radio spins ONLY THEY NEED THAT MAINSTREAM EXPOSURE automatically given to the heavy hitters Bey RI And Nicki and white Rnb artists, MORE NOW THEN EVER!! They are all singing the same type of music “Rnb” vocals!

The group don’t have a lead singer. Once again TGJ is POV pushing.

She’s giving me a, “Kim Kardashian” vibe in the looks department.

I Like the song and the idea of the video but the execution was limp, Vanessa was dancing and pouting as if she was still in the Saturdays singing pop songs, but she needs to step it up and give it more conviction.
