HBO has unleashed the trailer for the upcoming docuseries of Jay-Z reflecting on his 30-year career in ‘Jay-Z in 8.’

The ’99 Problems’ rapper gets deep into conversation with Rick Rubin about his extensive catalog, creative process for his albums, and his writing. Plus, reflecting on how his childhood and experiences that shaped him as an MC.
In the series, JAY will cover all his albums and standout tracks including early classics like ‘Can’t Knock the Hustle’ and ‘Brooklyn’s Finest’ off ‘Reasonable Doubt.’
Also, notable songs like ’99 Problems,’ ‘Dead Presidents II,’ ‘Can I Live,’ ‘No Church in the Wild,’ ‘The Story of O.J.,’and ‘4:44.’ Each episode will be a discussion on a handful of songs handpicked by Rubin where they’ll dive deep into the songs and explore the influences behind them.
This docuseries is a part of JAY’s yearlong celebration of the 30th anniversary of ‘Reasonable Doubt‘ – a toast to his incomparable catalog that’s included record-breaking shows in New York with upcoming shows in Los Angeles, Paris, and London.
Plus, pop-up events and a run of commemorative library cards with the Brooklyn Public Library.
‘Jay-Z in 8’ will premiere its first two episodes on September 18 on HBO then follow by dropping two episodes every Friday through October 9.
