Fifth Harmony Begin Recording New Album As A Four-Piece

Published: Tuesday 17th Jan 2017 by Sam

Fifth Harmony are firing from all cylinders!

The trimmed-down Pop ensemble are moving ahead at lightening speed following the departure of Camila Cabello last month.

Having announced their first performance and tour as a quad, the ladies have returned to the studio to begin baking their third studio album.

Full story below…

Member Dinah Jane shared a series of pics and clips on Snapchat with the band in the lab. The caption attached read “day 1.”

The snaps arrive following promises from the quartet that new material will be released in 2017.

No definitive word has been issued on the timeframe; although with the group in the studio now, it’d be fair to assume a late Spring/early Summer arrival.

I’m so ready for 5H3. No more CC and hopefully more moments for each girl to shine.

All she needs is a small acting or singing gig on telemundo??

I’ve heard this album will be more R&B ( not sure how true that is ) and I also heard they’ll be releasing during the summer .
Whatever they decide to do I really wish them much success . and I hope they come strong as ever .

Epic Records are either about to have a record labels dream year OR fall flat on their asses. They have Camilla AND FH, who both have the industry talking PLUS FH tour. Keisha Cole new album, with it being the first on Epic I’m sure they’re going for something big…But then again it is Keisha Cole so…! Tamar album comes out in March and she’s going straight on tour immediately after its release, kind of like how they did Ciara and her album failed. Mariah has her new album she’s working on plus the Jennifer’s, Lopez & Hudson. And there’s no telling who else on their lineup is planning a release. Epic Records is NOTORIOUS for their 2 singles/2 video-done trick and from industry rumors, they’ve already planned a big year for Camilla. This year will definitely be interesting to watch because I feel like these artists will all flop due to bad or lack of proper promotion…Like always with Epic.

As for the new Fifth Harmony, the label needs to take them in a more URBAN direction. That pop sound that has dominated their catalogue isn’t where music is and has proven to be least successful for them as a whole. Their urban songs have been their most successful- Why not run with that?

As for Camilla, Epic signed her solo, as direction competition for Republic Records’ Ariana Grande (From where I stand). The thing is Camilla isn’t a star and it won’t happen for her. Besides, the GP barely has time for Ariana, who is clearly more attractive and a better singer than Camilla, so they definitely won’t have time for Camilla. The end.

The label will be giving 5H All of Camilas leftover songs and low budget music videos???

      • TheOuyonB January 18, 2017

I don’t think that will happen. They are still the only relevant girl group on their roster, so they continue to push them- especially in a market with no girl groups buzzing except them. These girls will still work, but they need a cohesive album and should keep the pop songs to a minimum.

Hate to say this but they look incomplete especially with their band name. Ppl will always question why there’s no fifth harmony. Can’t they find a replacement? Them budget cuts tho?

Good for them. Hope they have success post CC’s premature departure. Also I do hope they head in the more R&B/Urban/Dance arena. The Pop sound was not catching on quickly for them, but perhaps a more Urban Crossover could get them airplay on Urban, Rhythmic, and CHR stations. Maybe even throw in some Latin flare too.

    Their survivor era is coming

Epic has made it clear 5H are still a big priority for the label. So those talking about them getting a low budget / leftovers are probably mistaken
