It appears folk aren’t that interested in seeing Mariah Carey and Lionel Ritchie sing their hits all night long.

According to Page Six, the legendary duo haven’t had the best response to their recently announced US arena trek – which sets sail next month.
Word on the curb is that sales have been so slow that Ticketmaster is currently offering a two-for-one deal.
The site advertises the promotional price as a great Valentine’s Day gift, advising customers to “grab a ticket for you and your special someone … all for the price of one.”
This comes after the New Years Eve debacle, which saw the songbird thrown into disarray when her backing track did not kick in on live TV.
However, a rep for Carey denied this latest drama, saying:
“Mariah is working enthusiastically with Live Nation and Lionel’s team to put together an outstanding tour. Ticket sales are beyond great — fans are in for a real treat.”
Whatever the case, 2-for-1 sounds great to us; especially to see two superstars.
Mimi may have a broader problem with her brand and imaging, but we’re not sure it’s fair to put all the blame on her for this tour. After all, she is just opening.
I’d take the two for one just to see these two while they’re still here and performing.

Sam, please educate yourself. First of all, Mariah’s not “just opening.” She’s been giving radio interviews all week long promoting “I Don’t” and she’s confirmed that they’ll be having ANOTHER act revealed shortly who is going to be the opening act of the show.
Mariah and Lionel are both pulling double duty on this tour, which is clocking in at 3 hours long at each venue. It’s also interesting to see Lionel’s name virtually omitted from the blame, considering its his name at the top of the billing….yet Mimi’s the one getting bad-mouthed. Sexist much? Either way this isn’t exactly new practice, LiveNation is currently running the same marketing promotion on multiple Ariana Grande stops on her Dangerous Woman Tour, yet that’s seemed to go ignored as well.
Either way, Mimi’s riding high at the moment. “I Don’t” is getting nothing but critical and fan acclaim and the video has already logged over 10 million views in a week and starting to take off at radio!

This is Lionel Riche’s tour… Mariah is a special guest. Her last shows in December sold out. But that was before the lazy NYC performance. Anyways, I’m sure this is FAKE NEWS. The shows will eventually sell by showtime.
I love Mariah wish it was fake news but it’s not I tried searching on ticketmaster for tickets for Baltimore,NJ and Chicago and it shows that there are ALOT of seats still available in a lot of sections
Sweetheart, the tour doesn’t begin until March 15th. Heavy promo, with Lionel and Mariah going on talk show gigs won’t begin until another 2 weeks. They have plenty of time. This happens all the time for older acts. And with new ones as well. Only acts that really sell out like hot cakes are monster headliners like Bey etc…etc… Even Rihanna was having trouble filling arena’s last year with a global #1 hit. A lot of seats will be available until the 2 weeks or so… then they will start to slowly but surely sell. Watch. Lionel will be touring well into May.
