Much of Lady Gaga‘s career has been spent plugging albums, anchoring herself a daring fashionista, and flexing her acting skill-set. The latter of which earned her a Golden Globe.
But it’s the release of recent LP ‘Joanne‘ that has allowed Mother Monster to experience some of the highest points of her career.
Arriving in October last year, Gaga’s 5th studio effort sold over 200k first week and topped the Billboard 200 in the process.
The era more broadly carried her to stages across the globe and to the most iconic platform of all -the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Fittingly, the project is continuing to yield commendable landmarks.

Still sitting within the top 50 of the Billboard 200 this week, ‘Joanne’ has officially surpassed the half-a-million pure sales mark in the U.S, bringing its Stateside total to 503,000. With streaming (SPS) factored in, the LP has shifted over 800,000 equivalent units.
In effectively going Gold (RIAA announcement pending), Gaga now has 6 consecutive releases to hit that goal-post – most of which did so on the way to Platinum.
More power to Gaga. She’s working the album, in all its polarizing glory, to the max and yielding the results.
Sure we long for something more mass appealing next time, but ‘Joanne’ always felt like something she had to get out of her system. A cornerstone project of sorts.
