With Fifth Harmony now on a hiatus, its members are stepping into the solo spotlight.
Case in point Lauren Jauregui, who poses it up for Playboy.
Stunning and outspoken in equal measure, the 21-year-old pairs her mesmerising looks with ardent advocacy on a variety of socio-political topics – including rights for the LGBTQ community as well as immigrants.
And she touches on all in her interview feature, which also includes insight into her solo sound.
Head below for pics and quotes…
On Her Solo Material:
“Right now, I’m just exploring myself and getting in touch with myself creatively.
To be real, I don’t want to give myself boundaries. [I’m heavily influenced by electronica, pop, rock ‘n roll, alt-rock and Latin music—particularly Cuban music.] It’s definitely different than my work with Fifth Harmony. It’s me.”
On Singing About Queer Relationships With Fellow Bisexual Artist Halsey:
“I love the concept of there being this visibility because most of the songs you hear about bisexual women or female attraction sexualizes the female connection.”
On Encouraging Fans To Act On Social Issues:
“It’s so crazy how little people know about what they can do, about their rights, what they’re putting into their bodies and everything that’s going on globally. I believe that art is the core of what starts revolutions.”

We’re super buzzed about Lauren’s solo potential.
Granted she’s not wanting to be boxed into a genre, it does feel like she could effortlessly borrow elements of acts we know and love to create something fresh yet familiar.
For, she possess a similar rocky rasp as Pink, while also boasting an embedded soulfulness much like Christina Aguilera.
The possibilities are endless.
Now she’s the REAL star of the group!
This is a real star
If the group flopped what makes you think people care about the solo things they’re doing….
#LMJ1 IS COMING!!!! Lauren is the most stunningly beautiful and brilliantly educated artist that I’ve heard in a long time. She’s so passionate and concerned about what’s going on in the world as she should be. I cannot wait to see what she has to offer.
LAUren said things that are close to what’s close to what Camila said when she left. Hope Lauren didn’t hate Camila for that cause if she did. Lauren’s bad
This is a star who didn’t make it in Fifth Harmony & doing Playboy sealed the deal!! Normal will win NO MATTER WHAT!!
I love Miss Lauren as well she is my first fav of the group.
I’ve always felt that she was the actual ARTIST and VOCALIST. I am excited to see how she blossoms.
