As the world tunes in to say farewell to Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin at the live-streaming of her funeral services, another musical monarch – Empress of Soul Gladys Knight – deals a crushing blow to the genre’s fans.
Just two weeks after Franklin succumbed to the pancreatic cancer, Knight reveals she too suffers from the deadly disease.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the 74-year-old icon. Though pancreatic cancer was implied by her statement above, as of time reported Knight has not confirmed what type of cancer nor when she first received the diagnosis. At present, her publicist has denied requests for comment.

When I heard her say that, I thought she meant cancer in general but not necessarily pancreatic cancer. I hope Gladys’ is a more easily cured form.
My aunt also died from this cancer… having diabetes is a huge direct link to this cancer… we have to start eating better & changing our diets, eating less meat, eating our raw fruits & veggies & detoxifying our bodies from all that food!

Gladys Knight’s publicist made a clarification — she does not have cancer. Maybe Gladys Knight found out she’s diabetic, and that was the connect illness.

She does not have cancer. She HAD stage 1 breast cancer at one point and beat it. She is currently cancer free.
