The Predictions Are In! Lady Gaga’s ‘A Star Is Born’ Soundtrack Set To Sell…

Published: Saturday 6th Oct 2018 by Sam

Beyond being one of the biggest movie releases of the year, ‘A Star Is Born’ serves as one of 2018’s most anticipated music offerings too.

Lady Gaga, who plays the character Ally in the Warner Bros production, takes centre-stage on the compilation – appearing on 13 brand new songs.

As reported, several songs from the set are rocketing their way up iTunes.

How is that factoring into its performance on the album tally?

The first week forecasts are in! Head below for details…

According to Hits Daily Double, ‘Star’ is looking poised to shine on the Billboard 200 with premiere numbers of…

[Pure Sales]

Per HDD, it’s currently too close to call for the top spot as Twenty One Pilots are tracking similar numbers for their latest release.

Can Gaga and co snatch the #1?

Whatever the case, the soundtrack is quite the triumph; it’s on-course to open strong, is being showered with praise by critics, and – given the awards buzz – is likely to have legs in the weeks and months ahead. A win on several fronts.

Go Gaga!

Whitney’s The Bodyguard soundtrack debuted at #2 behind Ice Cube with 144,500 copies! I’m not saying that Gaga will sell anything like Queen Nippy in the long run (OH HELL TO THE NAW lol…that’s impossible), but you need to cool it with the flop comments…soundtracks take time to warm up…come back in January 2019 and we’ll talk about it!

      • JOHNVIDAL October 6, 2018

These are fantastic numbers for ANY album today, and definitely more for a soundtrack, since the few soundtrack that really work on the charts, have legs for weeks or months. It could be a bigger win than what it already is. The song has spent an entire week on itunes at #1 non stop, rare for a ballad. So much for Gaga not being commercial anymore… 🙂 For an album like Joanne I already saw her career was far from dead since she had really good opening numbers with album like THAT that wasn´t too commercial. It is just the talent people cannot deny.

        @JOHNSLAYDAL Exactly! ✅ ? ?

      • Whoops ???‍♀️?? October 6, 2018

These are fantastic numbers for a soundtrack but certainly not for ANY album today. These numbers would be decent. But Fantastic? Absolutely not. But yes, People do still love Gaga and she’s not selling the way she used to and that probably is just because of her distancing herself from her old sound with Cheek to Cheek, Joanne, and now this. And this album could pick up even more, because that mediocre Greatest Showman soundtrack had a slow start too and it’s huge now. It sold a million copies. We’ll have to wait and see.

      • JOHNVIDAL October 7, 2018

I´d say it is fantastic for any album too, since only 10 or 15 albums or so debut higher than this every year these days.

She is an awesome talent & legit artist. These are great numbers & they may go up. And the movie is doing great too. Awesome…

  4. Really October 6, 2018

Go Gaga!!! Even when your managers turned their backs on you you still prevailed!!!

    • JOHNVIDAL October 6, 2018

Most people´s careers dieafter the things hers has seen, but the girl is special. Xtina totally let it die for example. Not everybody is strong enough or diverse enough.

The pure sales are amazing. I’m sure the pure sales is top 10 best debut for 2018. I can’t really think of too much artist that sold moRe than 120K pure sales in their debut. I’m going to see the movie 2nite

My goodness I never thought this would become a huge hit but looks like it is just being so on all fronts. The film has secured some good box office (something that could have not happened since this type of film people have seen before), and the soundtrack could have been some cute little thing aming the many and different projects Gaga always has in mind. But damnn it! It is TRULY slaying. The songs are so good, I didn´t think she was putting so much effort in the music when they were recording liek a year ago or two, while she was doing other projects too. Gaga and obviously Bradley hasve a name worldwide, so with the good reviews, the box office worldwide will be more than cute. It will cross 100 million in the USA almost guaranteed, which is a win for these medium films. And these songs are slaying and kind of bringing real ballads and soundtracks back. I´ve been saying it for years (and I didn´t care about her when The Fame happened): the girl was special. Really happy to witness this after the monumental hating campaigns she faced after the album Born This Way for like… 5 years straight at least. Oh and I want a second Jazz album!!! (which was very successful too btw).

    • Fancy BISH October 6, 2018

It is extremely rare for a music artist to crossover into film and even more to do it successfully! The fact Gaga actually DID IT and with critical and commercial success? Bravo Gaga! She did that! I was definitely on Madonna’s team during the Born This Way era…I was going IN on some of the lil munsters lmao ? But Gaga has weathered the storm and is back on top! She’s a true talent *Aretha voice* lol…and yes, bringing ballads back to the charts! #ASlayIsBorn

      • JOHNVIDAL October 7, 2018

I didn´t have any problem with Gaga when she released Born This Way though. In fact it was when I truly realized what a talent she is. Something that started with The Fame Monster success once I watched her first MTV performance. I didn´t care much about her when The Fame exploded cause I thought she was one more untalented vocalist with two or three cute songs for the moment. It is true she was modeling some of the things she was doing after Madonna during Born This Way release. But bish, so many others were not Madonna´s whatsoever, like You and I or Edge of Glory. Madonna wishes she could have ever promoted an album singing those vocals on Edge of Glory live performances LMAO No seriously, I like both in their own way. But to me Madonna was the one who did the most during those days. She waited a whole year to talk about hpw Born theis Way was a copy… in time for her Superbowl performance. Madonna didn´t win me during those days definitely 🙂

      • Fancy BISH October 7, 2018

Hey John! Born This Way is a solid album in retrospect and Edge Of Glory is a classic in my opinion! I tell you one thing…no artist since has matched the spectacle, pizazz and hoopla that was around the Born This Way era! It was truly an event! Madonna was definitely being catty and sipping big cups of tea during that time ? I respect both dem bishes at the end of the day lol ? My favorite album from Gaga is The Fame Monster and my favorite song is Bad Slaymance

  7. No name October 6, 2018

With all this hype and promotion???
Both the movie and the soundtrack are underwhelming
I’m gonna pass on this one

  8. King of King’s October 6, 2018

Was suppose to be Beyoncé’s movie ?but I guess, let’s see if she thanks her dropping out

      • JOHNVIDAL October 7, 2018

Bish Beyonce cannot act and Clint Eastwood would have made the most boring of films with this material. It just wasn´t going to be good. Understand the strenghts of each artist or sshup up. Beyonce knows right now critics would probaby demolish her and that´s why she has not acted in years. She involves herself in films in other ways now.

      • Fancy BISH October 7, 2018

        @John ☕️ lol

      • Bug a boo October 7, 2018

Loool go back to your toilet and cut yourself little cutter Beyoncé would have make the movie 100 times better and more profitable.
Gaga tried to be like Kween B but she was more like a Drag Queen from a cheap gay bar.
Madonna killed her and she had to explore a nonagenarian just to save her career.
She Tried to be like Beyoncé and Madonna but ended up like Grace Jones and Bjork.
She is a total freak show and AFTER ALL THE PUBLICITY made to the movie these sales are shameful!

    • ??? October 7, 2018

lmaooo Gaga doesn’t have to thank her, that non acting roach knew this movie woulda FLOPPED if she was in it lmfaooooo ? ?

  9. Bloop October 6, 2018

Twenty one pilots albums is really good , I’ll check out Gaga next week

  10. Paulo October 6, 2018

This is odd. How’s it pulling Joanne numbers when the songs are doing way better on iTunes?

    • JOHNVIDAL October 7, 2018

Great fanbase despite all the diversity she shows. And also soundtracks are a whole different story. I´d say Gaga has now her faithful fanbase who has stayed with her through all the changes and phases and also a certain quality consumers that don´t follow the pop world or blogs but are interested enough when they hear she is releasing something and see the promo. She won those people with the Jazz stuff and the oscars performances for example. This soundtrack totally fits both groups.

  11. Beam Me Up Scotty October 6, 2018

    Deserves more. I missed Gaga.

  12. Cardi-Stan October 6, 2018

Fantastic. Did more than #Queen ???

    • Beam Me Up Scotty October 6, 2018

Your comment is so dumb. This movie. This music. Everything about this appeals to a larger audience than Nicki Minaj’s “Queen” so I would hope that it would do better.

      • ? October 8, 2018

Lmao. Don’t say Queef has lesser appeal to larger audiences because that album is more in line in today’s sound and also featured current artists like Ariana Grande, Lil Wayne, The Weeknd, and Eminem. Y’all Barfz just don’t run out of delusional excuses to cover up Tricki Garbaj’s dwindling career.

  13. Jay Jay October 6, 2018

Remember this is a soundtrack album. Not bad considering this soundtrack is doing better than Beyonce’s And Jay’Z joint effort. Just saying

  14. ??? October 7, 2018

lmaooo slay Gaga. more than that epic roach brick everything is FLOPPED lol ?, plus the movie exceeded the $30 million predictions and made over 40 million! roach would have NEVER brought in these numbers lmfaooooo ? ?? ?
