Beyonce fans were under the impression that Christmas had come early this year after two albums composed of old material from the iconic songstress had made their way onto streaming services.
Found on Apple Music and Spotify and released under the name Queen Carter, the two 10-track sets – ‘Have Your Way’ and ‘Back Up, Rewind’ featured previously released songs among other unreleased tracks and demos of hers including ‘Hollywood,’ a collaboration with husband JAY-Z that was originally featured on his 2006 album ‘Kingdom Come,’ and ‘Hey Goldmember’ from the soundtrack for ‘Austin Powers in Goldmember,’ which starred Bey back in 2002.
The star’s publicist denied to PEOPLE that the music was intended to be another one of the singer’s infamous surprise releases; fellow R&B singer SZA also revealed that she was subject to leaks as well sharing that new music of hers that was released under the name Sister Solana were just leftover tracks from three years earlier.
The albums and tracks are no longer available on streaming services and Apple Music and Spotify have yet to comment on the mysterious leaks.
One thing is for sure, we’re more than ready for new material from music’s reigning royal.
