Janet Jackson Fans Celebrate #JanetJacksonAppreciationDay

Published: Sunday 3rd Feb 2019 by David

When the albums Janet Jackson released following SuperBowl-gate were shunned and panned by the general public many believed it was a result of the performer’s supposed inability to “keep up” with her then-contemporaries.

We now know that this wasn’t the case and that the wave of negative press and media rejection she faced had little to do with how the public saw her, but everything to do with a petty and maniacal plan hatched by CBS chief Les Moonves to “punish” her for the incident.

A plan, executed with help from the very media apparatus Janet’s work had fortified for years.

The evil has finally been defeated, and efforts to erase Jackson’s achievements foiled by fans who launched #JanetJacksonAppreciationDay to celebrate her art.

I loved her in the era of All for You, but I didn’t like the direction she went in visually and sonically after 2001, and the Superbowl had no effect on my opinion at the time. Her next two tours didn’t have the same quality as before and I wasn’t interested in buying another Janet album until Unbreakable. She’s finally found her groove again and she’s getting the recognition she earned a long time ago.

she messed up letting jermaine dupri direct her career for the 20y.o. & discipline eras. every real fan knows all the tracks produced by him were trash & he literally wasn’t acting like a label executive (def jam) while Discipline was sposedta be a futuristic comeback . Unbreakable was great but her husband Wisim was doing too much scamming with that release. people were buying the album without knowing it cus he attached digital releases to merchandise pertaining to the tour. her new release looks to be the most authentic in years

So agree about Jermaine Dupri, had too much control EP albums with little effort to work above Janet’s name to take credit if it was a hit. Janet was blinded by that rodent… sheesh can’t believe 10 years was wasted with him.

hahaha no amount of bad press on the part of Les Mooves would cause that. typical black community blaming others. Fans will buy albums if it’s good regardless of the bad press. she put out s***** music and it showed. no one to blame but her.
