Daniel Caesar Apologizes For Anti-Black Rant

Published: Sunday 24th Mar 2019 by Sam

Daniel Caesar has walked back his controversial comments about the Black community.

As reported, the rising star was dragged through many corners of the e-streets after making a number of blanket statements about Black people in support of his Caucasian media personality friend YesJulz.

Now, with time to reflect on the fall-out, the Canadian native is singing a somewhat different tune.

See what we mean below…

Though standing by his sentiments, the ‘Best Part’ belter confesses that he approached the matter in a “pretentious” manner and was “talking down” to people when attempting to get his point across. And for that he apologizes.

Peep his IG Live statement:

Time will tell is it’s enough to quell the flames of fury.

As for the comments that initially, he went on record to say (in response to podcast’s claim that Julz was a “culture vulture”):

“Why are we being so mean to Julz? Why are we being so mean to white people right now? That’s a serious question. Why is it that we’re allowed to be disrespectful and rude to everybody else and when anybody returns any type of energy to us… That’s not equality. I don’t wanna be treated like I can’t take a joke.”

He went on to add:

“White people have been mean to us in the past. What are you gonna do about that? Tell me what you’re gonna do about that. There’s no answer other than creating understanding and keeping it moving. That’s some biblical sh*t. You have to bridge the gap.”

Hmm.

Your thoughts?

Apology seems disingenuous and he doesn’t sound remorseful at all.

I had no idea who he was prior to this incident, and I really don’t care to support or know him after the incident.

I’m not even riled up about it. Most of the hatred and violence we experience in the black community comes from us ourselves. We criticize, humilate, and terrorize each other about so many things and we do it on a regular basis. We won’t mobilize across this world and make the difference we want to see until more of us start treating each other with love and respect.

But what does your point have to do with his defence of yesjulz and her problematic behaviour, and her trying to defend that whilst causing more problems.
Am i saying that your point is invalid, we would have a discussion if it was relevant too the topic but unfortunately it isn’t, but what it is, is pretty much in line with Daniels initial comment which was in bad taste for the subject considering the bigger picture.

He calls lynching, stripping people of their human rights destroying cultures and continuously keeping black people in a permanent state of poverty through modern day slavery and stolen resources in Africa being mean???? I mean lets all stop being rude to poor whitey cause their feelings might get hurt. Black men are a joke!!!

I think that Daniel is of the party that i have white friends and they are nice to me, i have white fans and they are great! White people have never been mean to me so what’s the problem.
Oh, but that black man… my own kind, called David called me gay in public. Black people are so hateful

People always apologize when they know their actions will affect their careers. You ain’t sorry, you only saying sorry because you got back lash.

Just told it like it is. Admire his honesty and bridge words.
