R. Kelly has largely avoided the media in the years following the sexual assault trial he faced in 2008.
However, after being hit with 10 fresh counts for the same conduct, the R&B singer is attempting to clear his name by sitting down with CBS.
In a tearful interview with Gayle King, the embattled crooner claimed the case against him was “not true” and chalked the latest allegations down to “rumors.” He went on to vent that “they” are trying to drudge up old allegations from a case that he “beat.”

He doesn’t feel as though they’re being held against their will because the girls have been manipulated to the point that they have become willing victims who think they’re in love. He did not give a direct answer when asked if he has had s– with underage girls. All he continues to talk about is how unfair he’s being treated. If things were fair, he would’ve been put in prison a long time ago. The jury won’t get it wrong this next time.
He is being treated unfairly! He answered the question directly as best he could without incriminating himself. Everyone knows he was having sexx with underrage girls in the 90s. He went to trial for that and was found NOT GUILTY. Don’t be mad at him. Be mad at the prosecutors because they had plenty of evidence to get a guilty verdict! R. Kelly went to court fully prepared to go to jail back then so dont blame him for being found NOT GUILTY.
Fast forward to present day (ie 20 years later) and there is ZERO evidence he has been with an underrage girl since the 1999. People age, grow, and evolve and he should not be penalized for having sexx with underrage girls 20 years ago at this point!
This whole FALSE narrative where people clearly hear the ages FROM the accusers as in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, and want to PRETEND those are underrage girls should cut the BS. Stick to the FACTS and real EVIDENCE from within the past 20 years and not BS.

He can’t incriminate himself in that question if he’s innocent. What he’s not saying is, “That wasn’t me on tape then and it’s not me on tape now. I have never knowingly had s–ual relations with any underaged girl.” Why is he not willing to say that but then be perfectly comfortable saying he has not held anyone against their will? How is he going to answer when the prosecution asks, “Is that you on this tape? The mole on the subject’s back is of the very same size as yours and in the very same place that you have yours” (unless he had it surgically removed which investigators will uncover). Add to that the testimony and age of the new witness and it’s a done deal.

Eric you are too caught up with what is being posted by tabloid press verses what R. Kelly is really being charged with here.
The question is NOT whether or not it is him on the tape. It IS him on the tapes. The question is what actual date the tapes were recorded. Prosecutors have to PROVE the tapes were recorded within the statute of limitations (within 20 years) BUT remember they can charge him with a double jeopardy charge which is why the tapes being accepted as evidence may be denied by the judge. The defense has to PROVE the tape was recorded outside the statute of limitations (ie 20 or more years old).
The charges against R. Kelly are 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexxual abuse, in which 9 of the 10 counts involve alleged victims ranging in age from 13 to 16 years old. One of them is the subject of 4 different counts. There are a total of 4 alleged victims.
That means the Prosecution has to prove sexxual abuse took place against minors within the past 20 years (ie the statute of limitations) and it will be great if their witnesses cooperate and provide time dated RECEIPTS. The defense has to prove this took place 20 plus years ago as their best shot at getting these charges drop. If the charges are not dropped then you are looking at lengthy complex litigation which takes years because this is all he said she said stuff.
I say all this to say don’t put so much stock in the tape and feeling so passionately it is him in the tape. Everyone knows it is him in the tapes. That is not really the best evidence the prosecution will use to try and win their case. Their case will rely heavily on witness testimony and any possible timestamped receipts those witnesses may have.
