Beyonce may be outside of an album cycle, but she continues to rack up accolades for her most recent solo album ‘Lemonade.’
Released in 2016, the set was preceded by ‘Formation’ and arrived in tandem with an award-winning film.
The LP, which has sold millions the world over, was gifted a second wind recently when it landed on all streaming services following three-year exclusivity on TIDAL. Its wide streaming release occurred on the heels of Bey’s net-shaking Netflix special ‘Homecoming’ – which featured several songs from the project.
It would appear that the move helped the set cross a major milestone.
As of this month, ‘Lemonade’ has been certified 2x Platinum by the RIAA for selling a whopping 2 million units.
The news means that five of Queen Bey’s six solo albums now have the honor of being multi-Platinum and ALL of her solo albums are at least Platinum.
Suffice to say, this re-affirms the diva’s status as not just a cultural force but a commercial one too.
With ‘Homecoming’ tiding us over, we’re all sorts of buzzed for B7. Are you?
