Janet Jackson Electrifies Las Vegas On Debut Night Of ‘Metamorphosis’ Residency

Published: Saturday 18th May 2019 by Sam

Janet Jackson kicked off her Las Vegas residency ‘Metamorphosis’ in fiery fashion last night at the Park Theater.

Backed by a 14-strong dance troop, the Queen of Pop unleashed a high-scale production which provided a suitable backdrop for her seismic catalogue of classics.

As is becoming a welcome trademark for the diva, she paired renown numbers such as ‘Control,’ ‘All For You,’ and ‘Feedback’ with more obscure jams such as opener ‘Empty’ and ‘R&B Junkie.’

Beyond legions of fans, a number of notable names were also in attendance including Queen Latifah, Gabrielle Union, Jimmy Jam, and actress Yvette Nicole Brown – whose wish to meet Ms. Jackson was granted as part of a soon-to-be-televised segment on talkshow ‘The Real.’

Ms Jackson set the Gold Standard and has delivered many an epic tour over her phenomenal career.

But goodness gracious… after Rhythm Nation, The Velvet Rope and RockWitchU, THIS IS THE ONE right here!

I cant believe she performed so many gems… China love, moist, go deep remix… this is what the fans wanted, she delivered,

While I have my tickets, i felt like these clips present a show that the more casual fans wanted: heavy on production value but lighter thematically, while my preference is heavier on deep cuts and dance and less on production elements because it proves that she and the dancers can shine without it. There were phenomenal choreography moments in SOTW that have been discarded and songs included that make you scratch your head (Moist). The tour book seems like the best one yet and I am glad she is still in the game. See you in August, Miss Jackson!!!

Who the heck is lead choreographer for Janet now? Either Gil rediscovered himself or Janet finally turned to someone who I have to say has brought back the funk, the fire and the energy that has been missing in the time between the All for You tour and SOTW tour. The dancing I’m seeing now and the dancers themselves are exceptional!!!

I don’t know a single person who knows a song by this woman. I guess you need to live in the ghetto to understand the hype.

She’s in the rock and roll hall of fame. She’s won many many awards throught her career which has spanned DECADES. She’s Michael Jackson’s sister. I’m sure you knwo all that, you were just tying to be funny with your underlying racial comment.

You’re comment was stupid and uncalled for. Ignorance is your thing I see. FYI I see that you chose to comment about so you…if you didn’t have anything positive to say then just go stand in the corner
