New Music: Miley Cyrus – ‘She’s Coming’ EP

Published: Friday 31st May 2019 by Sam

For weeks, Miley Cyrus has been teasing the term ‘She Is Coming.’

Well, she is here and arrives in the form of a six-track EP.

A Pop chameleon, Cyrus does away with the Country-kissed sound of her last LP – 2017’s ‘Younger Now’ – in favor of hard-hitting Urban production.

Interestingly, the project is the first of three EPs due this year. ‘She Is Here’ will be unleashed in the Summer and ‘She Is Everything’ in the Fall. Together, they’ll make up the star’s seventh studio album ‘She Is Miley Cyrus.’

An eclectic list of guests join the singer on this edition including RuPaul and Ghostface Killa, as well as Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt on production duties.

Take a listen below….

Super cohesive, super impressive.

Thinking out loud though, while we’re all for artists veering out of boxes and exploring all corners of their musical influences, there’s the performance element.

Listening to this project, it’s easy to envision high-octane choreography, sass, and all in-between.

Is that something Cyrus can replicate live on stage? If yes, she’ll most definitely gift the tracks an added dimension. If not, many may interpret this as her again playing dress up with the “in” sound – a la the reaction of some to ‘Bangerz.’

Enough from us, though. What are…

Your thoughts?

Who is surprised that she’s back to black after the massive flop of her last album after the successful era of Bangerz.
This EP?Album would’ve been alright if she hadn’t bit the hand that fed her with her whole rap music and ways it effected her narrative.
I’m not surprised that Mike Will worked with her as he’s been paid dust by artists these days, so it gets his name out there, but Ghostface. Phew.
The music is okay, it shines because its better than the rest of the pop starlets music that’s being released, but Miley is still trash

Those snippets sound good. Bravo Miley ??

Who are her fans, I wanna know. Who does she make music for? Cause I don’t see anybody liking this, not gays, not blacks not teens.

She had such a promising future when she released bangerz.

Who would have thought that in 2019 nicki minaj, Taylor swift, miley cyrus, Katy Perry, beyonce will be flopping hard and will be struggling.

The word FLOP is being overused. Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, and Beyonce are NOT flops! Their albums sales ALWAYS meet expectations and times when they exceed expectations is just a bonus not a goal! You also have to include tour revenue and yearly income. None of the aforementioned artists struggle when it comes to making millions yearly. Thus, they are not flops. Miley Cyrus is white. She has white privilege on her side. The main reason why her music has not been selling greatly lately is because the music has been subpar. She has a fan base but she isn’t exactly someone who should be mentioned in the same sentence as a Beyonce or Lady Gaga or even Taylor Swift. Miley’s celebrity was NEVER as big as theirs ever so comparing her to them is pure nonsense.

      Beyoncé and Taylor didn’t flop
And I don’t like Taylor but she broke records with her single and her tours will do fine

Beyoncé slayed with a live albums and a 3 year old album both entered top 10
And her Netflix special will cement her place in history

      If that’s flopping wow
I would love to see how successful ?
They winning … you flopping hun!!

      • Clarkson June 1, 2019

        Me flopped
        Before I let go flopped
        Witness album flopped
Nothing breaks like a heart flopped
All nicki minaj songs this year have flopped

  4. Catchy May 31, 2019

How is Beyoncé flopping? I like the first three songs of this new Miley EP, it’s a different and catchy vibe and doesn’t feel like most other hip hop or top 40 songs out there right now.

    • #TheTruth May 31, 2019

Exactly. I’m no stan but Beyoncé isn’t flopping. If you’re talking about the live Coachella digital release, then try again. No one cares about live albums, let’s be honest.
Now if she pulls such numbers with her next studio release – which I doubt, but never say never – then you can call her a flop.

I LOVE Blaque. I heard snippets from the unreleased album. I was devastated when Natina passed. “I’m Good” is a CLASSIC!

    Bravo, APPLAUSE! Cl

The EP is very cohesive and builds up quite nicely. “Mothers Daughter” & “Cattitude” are certified club bangers.
the other songs are very solid.

Production is sleek but yet every tracks sounds different.
