With the like of ‘The Lion King’ and ‘Aladdin’ delivering big time at the box office, Disney are charging ahead full steam with their live-action remakes.
Next up is ‘Mulan,’ and it looks as though Pop icon Christina Aguilera may be back on-board for the film’s musical component.
Some may recall the fact that Xtina’ s very first song to be released in the US was ‘Reflection’ from Disney’s 1998 animated version of ‘Mulan.’
That track is credited as being one of the catalysts for the record deal Aguilera would go on to sign with RCA – her label ’til this day.
In a new interview with Haute Living, the singer (who was recently honored as an Icon by Disney), says there are talks for her to create music for the new incarnation of film, which hits theaters on March 27th 2020.
Check out an excerpt:
“It’s in discussion,” she confirms. “I don’t know much about the project, but things are going back and forth, and I’m discussing being part of it.”
We’d be here for it!
Christina’s spell out of the spotlight has us thirsty for new music still, even after last year’s ‘Liberation.’ Put simply, there’s a lot of time to make up for. And given the season she’s in career-wise (see: veteran), moves like these would be a smart vehicle to drive fresh material to fans in between albums.
Here’s hoping it comes to fruition.
