February 2, 2020 can’t come soon enough for fans of Jennifer Lopez and Shakira as the chart-toppers are set to scorch the Super Bowl stage as co-headliners of next year’s Pepsi-sponsored Halftime Show (as we previously reported here).
Making history as the first diva duo to share top billing at the ‘biggest spectacle on Earth,’ the combination rings especially noteworthy as the ladies unite to commemorate NFL’s 100th anniversary. Moments after the announcement was made, J.Lo and Shaki sat down to discuss how the union came to be, what viewers should expect from their highly anticipated joint showing, and more.

Im looking forward to it but i did not hear them say ‘It’s Gonna Be the Best Super Bowl ever”. Why the click-bait? I hope I am wrong and maybe missed them saying that but i am pretty sure i did not hear that in the video.

Poor jlo. Deep down in her heart u can tell she isnt happy to share the stage.
Jlo and shakira are big enough to headline the superbowl separately.
There will be a lot of comparisons between both of them on stage by the viewers ,
they will try to upstage on another,
their styles of music is different from one another so there will be genre clashing, vocal clashing etc.

Jlo u should have turn this down and waited another year or two when they make u the solo headliner.

Shakira is awsome but she is better suited to headline the World Cup than the super bowl solo. She has that international legendary status but in the usa her hits are not popular enough for headining the superbowl. Hips Dont lie is all i know from her.
Only J Lo will try to upstage shakura. Shakira seems down to earth, so I don’t think she’s going in with a competition mindset.

2 women that haven’t done anything musically this decade but releases flop after flop but they get to headline the Super Bowl. Meanwhile men like Usher and Kanye gets overlooked and called washed up when they’ve had wayy moreoverall impactful albums and even more hit songs this decade. I guess when you’re an attractive woman who shakes your ass you can get away with flooping.

This is about politics. J. Lo’s team had been marketing her to perform at the halftime shown for the past years BUT with that new deal Jay-z signed to curate the half time show J. Lo was forced to share the stage with a Roc Nation managed artist (aka Shakira).
Nobody is thinking about Usher. It is up to Usher and his team to make people think about him by touring again and working hard like J. Lo is at securing money bags from all angles (tv / movies / music / fashions / branding). I think you are looking at it solely from a fan perspective but blocking out the business and political perspective. Booking two hispanic women for the show gets a support from the MeToo movement and targets additional audiences to watch the game that general are NOT big watchers of nfl football (hispanics, metoo supporters, single women, white gays, and hispanic gays).
All that you talking she still a fraud who stole her biggest hits and can’t sing. Politics, playing in movies and securing the bag haven’t helped her music career cause at the end of the day she haven’t did anything successful musically since around 07.
And Tino despite it being explained to you – you are still missing the point. JLO is what other artists can only dream of – she is a TRIPLE THREAT MULTI FORMAT ARTIST AND ASTUTE BUSINESS WOMAN.
I don’t even stan hard for her and I know that despite not having hits this past decade JLo is a BRAND and an exceptionally successful one. She made the transition from Music to other formats to the point where continuing Music Is just brand exposure – she doesn’t need music to be successful anymore. So your observation is null and void because she got Super Bowl because her BRAND is extremely successful and people want to see her perform her hits because of that.

I’m not excited about Shakira, but Jennifer I’m looking forward to. I saw Jennifer’s “It’s My Party” tour and I would place it in my top 3 with Janet’s “All for You” tour and Pink’s “Truth About Love” show. Now that I think about it, Pink is long overdue for the halftime stage.
