Chance The Rapper Cancels Entire Tour: “I’m Deeply Sorry”

Published: Sunday 15th Dec 2019 by Sam

Chance The Rapper may have received praise aplenty for his album ‘The Big Day,’ but fans will have to continue playing the project on their headphones. Because its like-titled tour has been cancelled. Completely.

Full story below….

After first postponing dates due to the birth of his latest child, the MC has today confirmed that ‘The Big Day Tour’ is not happening.

He wrote:

“Hey guys I’ve decided to cancel the Big Tour. I know it sucks and its been a lot of back and forth with reschedules and rerouting, but it’s for the best. I’m gonna take this time to be with family, make some new music and develop my best show to date. I’m deeply sorry to anyone with a ticket who has supported me this past decade by coming to a show and rocking out with me and I feel even worse for anyone who was planning on making this their first Chance concert. Thank you all for an amazing year, and a huge thanks to my team and family for being so strong through this whole year. I promise to come back much stronger and better in 2020 and hope to see some of you guys there. I truly love you and God bless.”

It was probably best honestly. Should’ve booked small venues. His album FLOPPED and his tickets aren’t selling. He’s doing the right thing. Better than going out and embarrassing himself in front of an empty arena.

    :sips truth tea:

I hope this is just a move to cover ticket sales because otherwise this is sad for him to do on album #1.

Music has changed when artists release their first studio album and decide to cancel their tours. This whole Zayne Malik, Summer Walker, Chance era of “I don’t feel like performing” is not only poor business but just alienating to fans. There’s just a level of entitlement in cancelling and expecting fans to be there when you come back. Even artists like Sade, Sania Twain or Anita Baker, who sometimes go a decade without touring would never give their fans an album, a new body of art, and sell tickets to see it be performed only to then cancel it. Janet did this three decades on album seven only after completing the leg she promised. She’s also at a different place in her legacy. This is rapper’s first full album.

I’m all for self-care but all of the artist above took time for family and mental health—tools years off—but did it in a way that was professional and with respect to fans.

Just enjoy the music and stfu, you’re getting zero coins from the matter either which way.

I misread this and thought it read “Camila Cabello cancels entire your.”

    Soon enough.

This rappers today need a big reality check, back in the 90’s we rarely saw huge rappers on stadiums, many of them only performed on clubs or discos, some in arenas, they knew it was hard to them to fill a stadium.
Honestly these millennial rappers have such inflated egos they book the largest stadiums available and when they understand they aren’t filling seats give some lame ass Kanye excuse and retire to the mountains.
Thank God I’m not a fan.

Rap is now the biggest and most lucrative genre in music. It influences everything and urban music is the standard. Every act from pop on down is mimicking hip hop. YOU need a reality check.

The songs are bigger than the artist though

In rap people are flash in the pan

        Fetty wap
        Migos
        Cardi

The year after their biggest hits they’re declining unless they’re album acts and well rounded no one wants to hear trap 3-4 albums deep

Rap as a genre is successful due to tiktok that don’t mean ppl buying to see rappers mumble on stage

      • Bravo!! December 15, 2019

Thank you! Because rappers replace R&b acts. They are the biggest thing in music today. Plus, you did say your not a fan. So you shouldn’t comment on something your not familiar with.

Maybe in consumption sales/streaming if you’re talking about touring that’s not real and it’s a fact.
Make yourself a favor and check any list of the highest grossing tours ever, well you can even check the highest grossing tours of this decade.
You know how many rappers are on the top 25 at least…none!

      • Clarks0oñ December 16, 2019

Dumb àss rappers are not touring acts
They dont play instruments or put on a spectacle like rock stars or pop stars or country stars.
When people go to a live show, this us what they want to see and rappers do none of that.

Rap music fans are the biggest buyers / streamers of music, that’s why post malone is the most streamed artist on spotify

U are dumb, pls dont speak when adults are talking.

@Faf Cardi is the reigning rap Queen. She took nickis spot, deal with it

    • Swirly December 16, 2019

Chance has done a successful arena tour before. The problem is, he’s no longer popping like he once was.

Chance, tell the truth and shame the devil. Those tickets weren’t selling.

We all know touring is where the money is at nowadays.
He wouldn’t sleep on those money bags if that tour had been a commercial success.
Cancellation = poor sales. Be honest.

    • Clarks0oñ December 16, 2019

  8. Swirly December 16, 2019

He was better off saying nothing at all. T-Pain kept it real when his tour flopped, so should other artists. It’s a humbling experience. No one’s really checking for Chance anymore. He had a successful arena tour 2 or 3 years ago, but his time has passed or at least it’s at a halt.
