Lil Nas X Blazes Paper Magazine / Says “I Want To Go Beyond Other Artist’s Impact”

Published: Monday 21st Dec 2020 by Sam

Cop a gander of Lil Nas X!

The performer’s promotional push for new single ‘Holiday’ has led him to the cover of Paper Magazine.

An all out affair, the Charlotte Rutherford lensed shoot was paired with an insightful interview with the 21-year-old.

Looking to make an artistic mark outside of breakout smash ‘Old Town Road,’ Nas opened up about his forthcoming album, his goals as a musician, and his desire to outdo the impact of his peers.

Peep pics and quotes below…

On His New Album:

“I want [my fans] to know how much I love what I do and that I’m loving myself more too. This is my ‘I’m here to stay’ project.”

On His Goal As An Artist:

“I do want to go beyond any other artist’s impact. I don’t want to do what has been done. I want to have a lifelong career. Unless I decide to do something else.”

On Being Cautious With His Words, Even After Coming Out:

“I definitely dance around whatever I want to say or do on the internet. I want to get to a point where I can share everything with the world, but I’m not there yet.”

On ‘Holiday’ Lyric: “I Might Bottom On The Low, But I Top Sh*t”:

“Even saying it in the studio. I was like, ‘Damn, do I want to say this in front of these people? Within the community it’s kind of like a taboo in a way to say. Which doesn’t make sense because, you know, we’re all gay.”

Your thoughts?

He clearly has a lot to learn. This is what an overnight sensation would say in 2020. I have a feeling he’s going to fizzle. Music needs a lot more than he is offering.

Gurl, you have no Impact. You have a very successful Song under your belt, but that’s it. Your voice is not versatile and your not a good rapper, so milk that song als long as possible.

Just who cares at this point. Why they try to make these so called artist relevant to sell their products and agenda is getting old and stale. None of them are interesting.
