It may be Kelly Rowland‘s 40th birthday (February 11), but she’s the one handing out presents as evidenced by the surprise release of her latest single, ‘Black Magic.’
Produced by Sak Pase, the dance-infused production comes as a timely nod to Black excellence as it houses lyrics that sees Rowland praise Black history…and Black history in the making.
“When it all falls down / They gon’ write their books about us (Ooh) / When it all goes down / How will their world look without us / Without us, without us,” she croons.
Hear it in full inside:
The appropriately titled ‘Magic’ follows new songs ‘Coffee,’ ‘Hitman,’ and ‘Crazy’ – all reportedly set to be found aboard the GRAMMY winner’s forthcoming EP, ‘K.’

Love Kelly so much! Love the sample! Lovin’ these vibes. I thought Hitman was going to be it with the Afrobeat vibes. I’m so high off this! So excited for this epoch!
It could be good, but it sounds unfinished. Like a demo.
I like BEP’s Ebo Taylor sample more. This one sounds unmastered.
My ears! 😣
For some reason, her solo music seems to almost always leave more to be desired.
This ain’t it Kelly
Hitman, Coffee and crazy, are great though
Just release the damn ep already
I love it will be buying today. I’m so ready for the EP
Kelly, I see the growth this era with Coffee, Hitman, Crazy, and Black Magic🌺🔥💛
