Britney Spears‘ legal battle over her conservatorship continues.
Now, the singer is taking steps to remove her father – Jamie Spears – from her conservatorship.
Full story below…
According to NPR, her attorney Mathew Rosengart filed a petition on July 26 requesting that Jason Rubin replace Jamie as conservator of her estate. The new filing aims to grant Rubin with powers of attorney over her career and health care decisions.
Rubin is a Certified Public Accountant and specializes in such fields as bankruptcy and restructuring, according to his website.
The news of the new filing comes after Spears testified in court last month, where she asked that the conservatorship be abolished (as we reported here).
The ‘Circus’ singer was previously denied her request to remove Jamie as co-conservator of her estate, but the door was left open for her to file again.
A hearing for Rosengart’s petition has been set for December 13.
