Christina Aguilera, Camila Cabello Lead 2022’s Latina Powerhouse Top 100 List

Published: Saturday 8th Oct 2022 by Rashad

As the year draws to its close, we can expect many-a-year-in-review list to surface in salute of the people and moments that made 2022 great.

Among the first and most anticipated (on the global front) to roll out is Hola! USA’s Latina Powerhouse Top 100 – an “annual initiative celebrating the most influential, empowering, and inspiring Latinas.”

Toasting the Latina girls who run the world, the list is comprised of women who contribute to Latin culture and communities Stateside and abroad by using their influence in their respective fields to make lasting impacts.

Printed among the big names who made the cut for this year’s list are powerhouse vocalist Christina Aguilera and chart-topping Pop diva Camila Cabello.

Details inside.

On a tally that featured some of 2022’s biggest movers and shakers across a plethora of professions, the Latina Powerhouse Top 100 list made nods to Ariana DeBose for her history-making Academy Award win, actress Eva Longoria, Brazilian superstar Anitta, and many more in its entertainment section.

Standouts in that arena include Cabello and Aguilera, who have had noteworthy moments all across the year in their own rights respectively.

For Aguilera, the 41-year-old earned 7 nods and tied music sensation Drexler as the fourth most-nominated act for the year’s Latin GRAMMYs thanks to work found aboard her second Spanish LP, ‘Aguilera.’

Shortly after watching the project’s lead single, ‘Pa Mis Muchachas’ (which features fellow Latina Powerhouse Top 100 honorees Becky G and Nathy Peluso), soar to Latin Platinum status at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), Xtina was honored at the 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards with the ‘Spirit of Hope’ Award – a trophy established in memory of late Queen of Tejano Music Selena.

For Cabello, the 25-year-old kicked off the year as a frontrunner for the inaugural ‘fan favorite’ Academy Award honor for her work aboard the 2021-released Amazon Prime film, ‘Cinderella.’

Beyond earning rave reviews for the classic tale’s reimagining, Cabello’s other 2022 wins include headlining the opening ceremony at the UEFA Champions League final in May not long after landing her third consecutive top 10 hit on the Billboard 200 with her tertiary solo album, ‘Familia.’

The project is home to her eighth solo Hot 100 top 40 hit, ‘Bam Bam’ (which peaked in the top 5 on the Billboard Global 200 chart and features fellow global superstar Ed Sheeran).

At present, the singer-songwriter is said to be working on her yet-titled, fourth solo studio album while helping NBC’s ‘The Voice’ dominate TV ratings as a judge joined by John Legend, Blake Shelton, and Gwen Stefani

Christina and Camila aren’t the only big names to have an amazing 2022, however.

It kinda feels like ‘cheating’ to start putting Xtina on these lists now just cause she started singing in Spanish but at least that’s one talented person included right? Congrats to her on her newfound success 👏🏻
