This Sunday’s BET Awards will bring with it a special tribute to Tina Turner courtesy of fellow legend Patti LaBelle.

Rolling Stone confirms that LaBelle will be taking to the stage at the Microsoft Theater on June 25 to honor Turner – who died on May 24 aged 83.
A statement from the icon read:
“Tina was a trailblazer and someone I have a tremendous amount of respect for because of all that she overcame and all that she accomplished. She was and is everything! And I am honored that I am able to pay tribute to her in this way.”

The BET Awards 2023 air LIVE on BET on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at 8 PM ET/ 5 PM PT.
Previously announced performers include GloRilla, Coco Jones, Doechii, Lil Uzi Vert, and an action-packed celebration of the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop. Busta Rhymes has been revealed as the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award.
