Cher‘s latest single, ‘DJ Play a Christmas Song,’ continues to be a force on Billboard charts thanks to the onslaught of global promotion the Pop diva’s poured out in its support.
As if turning heads at the 2023 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the 2023 ‘Christmas at Rockefeller Center’ TV special, ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,’ ‘Wetten, dass..?,‘ ‘The Today Show,’ and more over the last two weeks wasn’t enough, the 77-year-old icon was spotted on ‘Graham Norton’ recently rocking out the latest live rendition of the Mark Taylor-produced tune.

The appearance on ‘Norton’ came just days after Billboard took to press to announce ‘DJ’ had danced to #1 on the Dance/Electronic Song Sales chart.
Besting the likes of Dua Lipa‘s ‘Houdini,’ ‘I’m Good (Blue)’ by Bebe Rexha and David Guetta, and other current top Dance hits, the ascension of Cher’s ‘Christmas‘ cut marks her first topper on this tally.
More importantly, it makes her the only solo act in history to boast owning at least one new #1 hit on a Billboard listing in each of the last seven decades (1960s-2020s). Legendary rockers The Rolling Stones are the other titleholder of this record.
She first saw her name printed on a chart’s summit when she rose to the top with the Sonny and Cher hit ‘I Got You Babe’ in 1965.
