Britney Spears‘ army of fans may be launching missiles on Justin Timberlake‘s newest single ‘Selfish,’ but the singer herself is singing a different tune.
For, moments ago, the Spears took to social media to issue an apology to her former lover – and profess her love for the very song her loyalists are lashing.

Spears, who recently made her Instagram page private, shared a clip of JT’s recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to her 42.5 million followers.
She seized the moment to “apologize for some of the things” she wrote in her mega-selling memoir ‘The Woman in Me.’
As reported, revelations in the page-turner included claims that she had an abortion while in a relationship with Timberlake. She also wrote that the NSYNC star adopted a “blaccent” in the presence of certain Black artists.
Not only is the 42-year-old pivoting, but she’s also plugging JT’s latest offerings. Her words in full read:
“I wanna apologize for some of the things I wrote about in my book. If I offended any of the people I genuinely care about I am deeply sorry… I also wanted to say I am in love with Justin Timberlake’s new song “Selfish” 🌹 It is soo good and how come every time I see Justin and Jimmy together I laugh so hard ???

Spears’ apology post comes after Timberlake issued an apology of his own to both her and Janet Jackson for his own wrongs in 2021.

Janet did the same thing for Justin after people started talking about the 2004 Super Bowl again with the Britney documentary a few years ago. Janet basically told us to move on and leave Justin alone. My question is this: Why is it when Justin’s career and reputation needs saving, a woman whom he has hurt has to come to his rescue? What did he do to help Janet and Britney when they could’ve used it? Everyone is supposed to support Justin but never the other way around.
