In the last year alone, Billboard has sent some of music’s biggest fan bases into a frenzy and fury with their “definitive” countdowns ranking everything from the ‘Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st Century‘ to the ‘Top Women Artists of the 21st Century,’ ‘Greatest Female Rappers,’ ‘Greatest R&B Artists,’ and more.
Restoking fan fire with yet another list recently, the Music Bible unveiled their full ‘Top Producers of the 21st Century’ listing.
Look inside to see which of the millennium’s favorites graced the coveted top 10.
A stats-based index that sees expected faces like Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, Max Martin, Dr. Luke, Timbaland, and Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins dominate, the ‘Top Producers of the 21st Century’ list was compiled over Hot 100 performance from January 1, 2000 to December 28, 2024, and tallied the sales, duration, and impact of #1 and top 10 hits of over 300 producers.
And while Max Martin was planted at #1 on the overall list, Beyonce – one of the most-decorated female artists in Hot 100 history with over 106 total placements including 9 #1s and 24 top 10s – is listed as the top female producer of the century so far.
In fact, her #6 positioning made her the only woman in the top 10.
“Her work behind the board proves that she’s not just the face of her music but also a creative force behind the whole enterprise,” Billboard staff said of the megadiva who also produced hits for her group Destiny’s Child before catapulting into solo stardom.
When women only are considered, behind her on the list is Taylor Swift (the most-decorated female artist in Hot 100 history) and Mariah Carey (the most #1 hit-decorated solo artist ever).
