If you look at the breakdown that they reported, she charted mainly off single sales. Radio play=/= sales (See Body Party, Right Now, What Now, etc). It’s ironic that you call Katy’s music forgettable when Katy spent over a year in the top 10 consecutively with most of her singles lasting well over 4 months on the charts and Teenage Dream still on the BB200 meanwhile Judas fell off Billboard in a month and BTW is no where to be found on any album charts. Oh the irony.
Here’s y Gaga’s music will be more memorable. She actually has hits of the decade. She’s a better artist and a more talented performer. Katy’s albums don’t even get more than average reviews, Linda perry has already called her out for her basicness. She has no grammy’s to prove her music is more respected by the elite, and she doesn’t even match the greatness or Britney and Madonna. And it doesn’t matter. Payola is what pushed it even further down our throats for us to listen. I can’t even have a decent drive in my car with that song roar bombarding and hogging every station since its debut….
