Minutes after actress Zendaya Coleman announced that she was play late singer Aaliyah in the forthcoming ‘Lifetime’ biopic based on her life, British rapper Monie Love has slammed the project, taking aim at the “unethical” motives behind its conception.

Set to be led by the singer’s uncle Barry Hankerson, the movie will see Aaliyah‘s story told through the eyes of the ‘Blackground Records’ executive, oft slammed for the part he allegedly played in the singer’s illegal union with singer R.Kelly and the underhanded tactics he reportedly used to keep ‘Andre’ singer JoJo at the ailing label.
Now, after facing claims that he launched the movie to fund the company following JoJo’s departure, he now finds a new critic in Love, who weighed in with…

Either of those two would be horrible in my opinion. Zoe is 35, how can she play someone who died in their early 20s? Meagan does not have the right look at all and she is also too old, 32 to be exact.
I agree with Moni, I won’t be supporting this film or any cd unless the family gives it the ok. Other Aaliyah fans should follow suit, her uncle is a disgrace to that family.
Does it really matter? This ‘biopic’ will be on television and to be specific on the ratchetness channel, VH1! I could understand people getting upset if this was to hit the big screen or even HBO (respectable).
