Having starred in a bevy of Hollywood blockbusters in recent years, it’s no surprise that Jamie Foxx‘s musical ambitions have taken a backseat.
However, the do-it-all talent is back with new song ‘Party Ain’t A Party’ – the first single to be lifted from the follow-up to his 2008 album ‘Intuition’.
Produced by DJ Mustard, the club destined cut features rapper 2 Chainz.
Take a listen below…
Granted this isn’t Foxx’s first foray into club domain (see: ‘Blame It’), ‘Party’ is notable in that it’s the singer/actor’s most obvious attempt. A point that doesn’t take away from the song, but is interesting nonetheless.
Sonically, it positions itself right in the thick of what’s “hot” in the modern musical climate – which is arguably smart. That said, whether the masses take to a track fronted by a 46-year-old will be intriguing to see.
What happened to DJ Mustard’s good beats. He’s been coming weak the past few tracks. Already killed his buzz now.
He probably gave all his good stuff to Rihanna lol.
Hopefully!

This song is awful. Jamie has a better voice than to be singing like this.
He wasn’t the greatest singer but his voice ain’t improved over the years. I’m still here for Golddigger and Blame It tho, those where my tunes!
I’m sorry but this sounds just like “2On”…the thirst to get a hit I see
Okay, so the bridge is everything! I’m just bored with these one two step, finger snapping music. I get it, like TGJ mentioned above it fits in well with the current music climate…. but meh!
Very generic.
No shade but outside of the bridge, this is a complete rip-off of T-Pain’s “Up Down”.
