I was meaning to post the details surrounding Brandy’s new album but I wanted to do so in a separate post. The reason being, I feel it’s deserving and two, I prefered it if everyone paid more focus into the music side and not the photoshoot. The good news is, the R&B veteran is solely going straight urban for the upcoming LP which will be released on Island Def Jam. The second good news is, super producer Timbaland has been given the full reigns to produce the bulk of it. Check out the exclusive tidbit from ‘160grams’ below:
After a period of reflection, she is now ready to turn the music industry upside down once again with her upcoming album, which so far, is a well kept secret although she told us it will involve heavy production from Timbaland and will be more Hip Hop-oriented. It is bound to be a hit and an interesting EVOLUTION from her previous works: “I wasn’t old enough to get into people’s hearts. Now I am” she states.
It sounds like Brandy is going to give us ‘Afrodisiac’ part two, in which case, I rejoice! Afrodisiac was a hot album and her chemistry was Timbaland was dynamite. I want another album like that and I hope we get it. What are your thoughts about Brandy going straight urban for her new album? More importantly, what are your thoughts about Timbaland producing the goods?

With so many acts all you ever hear is ‘she looks good’…, and the bulk inevitably do, but many forget this is the MUSIC INDUSTRY so if that pretty girl can’t back up her presence with vocal skills then she needs to GETHAFUKOUTTAHERE! and stop cloggin up my TV/Radio/Blog etc.
I won’t lie, I like some of these chicks Kesha, Katy Perry, Rihanna’s material but I have a sophisticated ear for vocals and I have to dumb my ears down for many of todays singers. Brandy kills it and then some vocally and when she couples her vocal skills with bangin’ production she slays the game. Basically, this shoot shows when she wants to she can compete with the industry models, like I said in another post she has her own brand of appeal…, the cold reality though is really none of the popular acts of today can hang with Brandy when it comes to the vocals/music…, Brandy creates magic, the others create ‘insta-hits’.
I think she’ll bring the best out in Timbaland, I loooved Afrodesiac…, IMO her voice is husky dextrous and sweet so I prefer her on harder, more left-field experimental tracks, I’m hoping Tim keeps the lame side of his craft for the joke acts like Katy Perry etc. cos even though acts like that sell, no-one respects them.
She looks A+ she is surely NOT UGLY, I DON’T THINK THEY SIGN UGLY FEMALES TO COVER GIRL CONTRACTS?! LET’S NOT FORGET THAT PEOPLE.
